Hello Baby!

Blessed Sunday to you my friends! Today is another wonderful challenge at Stampin' Sisters in Christ. Our hostess is Kathy Winter, and she chose the scripture Jeremiah 1:5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations." (NIV) The challenge is to make a baby card or project, or a card for an expectant mother (or parents), or a baby shower card... anything along those lines. Please do pop over to the SSCC blog to see all the wonderful samples by the Design Team.

This scripture is the call of Jeremiah by God to become His prophet. God does know each and every one of us by heart. And He has a plan for each of us. One way to truly know God is to give of our talents and gifts to others. Someone very wise once said that if you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life. What I think this all means is we need to find our light and let it shine!

A baby theme was perfect timing for me because a very dear friend of mine is due to give birth to her third daughter this week. (Pretend like you didn't already see this card, Lis!) Plus, I just got this cute Vintage Postcard Kit by Crafty Secrets at the ScrapbookExpo on Friday and couldn't wait to use it to channel Melissa Phillips again.

I realize there's no stamping, but isn't that image the cutest thing? After mounting it to the chipboard, I sanded around the edges to get the perfect fit, and then sponged a bit of white paint around the edges. The DP is by Melissa Frances, as is the glitter heart.

Yes, I had a wonderful time at the ScrapbookExpo with my BFF Des. We shopped 'til we dropped and did more than our fair share to help stimulate the economy. I figured it was the least we could do. Plus, every time I saw a good deal or a sale, I followed my husband's advice... the more you spend, the more you save!

Before I sign off, I want to wish my La-La Land Crafts Design Team sister Kim Yu a very Happy Birthday!!! Kim recently won the "sketch your own Wild Sprout" contest at The Greeting Farm. That girl is super talented and as sweet as can be. I hope you have a fabulous birthday Kim!!!

And I hope each of you has a wonderful day!

This card is my all-time FAVORITE! I love the whole feel of this vintage scene and the colors are so pretty! I have a card with a similar picture (that's actually vintage!) in my baby book that someone gave my mom when she had me! Wonderful find Lisa!! :) Love your stitching too btw. I'll have to pop by Kim's place and wish her a happy b-day! :)

I have been eyeing that postcard kit for a while, the only reason I haven't gotten it yet is because I needed a boy card . . . but I think I'm about to tip over the edge. Cute paper choice and what a lovely little bow.

Gorgeous baby card Lisa!!! I love your image - and the whole "old world" look. I'll also have to remember the bow with the button - it looks wonderful!

Thanx so much for your email - will reply asap. Hope your cold doesn't catch up to you - sending you HUGE cyber hugs to help stave off the bugs!
