Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Birthday Blog Hop!

Hello and welcome to the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Birthday Blog Hop!  Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is excited to be celebrating four wonderful years! A fantastic group of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps design team members, past and present, along with some special friends, have put together this fabulous Birthday Blog Hop to kick off a whole month of fun. We have 36 stops so the hop will take place over three days - feel free to take your time visiting each blog! You have until 11:59pm EST November 9th to leave comments on as many blogs as you can. On Saturday, November 12th, Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps will announce FOUR winners (chosen at random from comments on random stops along the hop); each lucky winner will receive a prize package including stamps, dies, paper and twine valued at $40!

I am an SNSS Design Team alumnus. I am very fond of Korin (and SNSS) because she was the very first person to take a chance on me as a design team member. I was thrilled and honored beyond words, and I'll always be grateful! Happy Birthday Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps! May you celebrate many more!!!

If you have been following the hop you should have come from Jacquie Peifer's blog.  If you are only starting here, please head back to the SNSS blog and go from there...you won't want to miss any stops along the way!  Also, don't forget to comment on as many stops as you can....the more comments the better your chance of winning one of the fabulous prize packs! :)

My card features the adorable snowman image from the Snow Special clear stamp set. I LOVE snowmen, and this one is extra cute, don't you think? He's paired with patterned paper from the Season's Greetings collection by Echo Park and the Peppermint Collection by Crate Paper.

Mine is the last stop on the hop (thanks for hanging in there to the end!), but just in case there are any hiccups, here is the whole list of celebrants on this party train:

Don't forget to stop by the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps store for the deets on all the special deals going on this month. You won't want to miss them!

Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Birthday Blog Hop!

Edited to add: The winner of my blog candy... Cocoa's Pumpkin digi image... is Anita! Congratulations Anita! I've emailed the image to you! Enjoy! And thanks to all of you for stopping by and leaving such sweet comments. You made my day!

Happy Birthday Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!!!
Smiley from millan.net

Three years ago today, Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps opened for business with just four clear stamp sets sold on a simple blog. Today, they offer more than 100 clear stamp sets and 100's of digital stamps!!! Congratulations Korin!!!

Korin invited her past design team members to join in the celebration, and I was only too happy to oblige. Korin gave me my start in the wonderful world of Design Team work. I'll be forever grateful to her for giving me the chance, and I'll never forget how happy I was when she called me... it was a dream come true!

The fun starts at the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps blog.  You'll definitely want to begin there and follow along because EVERY single blog in the hop is giving away a prize! You'll also find the complete link list there in case of a break along the way.

So let's get started!

My card features two digi images... Cocoa's Pumpkin and Pumpkin Patch. I used my photo editing software to combine the two.

I thought this was the perfect opportunity to play in The Sweet Stop sketch challenge! Korin offers a fabulous new sketch challenge every Saturday.

I paired Cocoa with DP from the Apple Cider collection by Imaginisce. The greeting is by SRM.

The prize I'm offering today is the Cocoa's Pumpkin digi stamp! All you have to do for a chance to win is leave a comment on this post and I'll draw a winner on Friday, November 12th at noon Pacific time. How does that sound?

The next stop on the hop is Melanie's blog. Enjoy!!!

You Are One of a Kind

Saturday means it's time for another wonderful sketch challenge at The Sweet Stop. I love the layering of this one... perfect for mixing patterned papers.

I also love this adorable image by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps called One of a Kind. Birds are a favorite of mine, and these couldn't be more "tweet." I paired them with DP from the Green at Heart
collection by Basic Grey.

I'm sad to say that this will be my last official post as a Sugar Baby for The Sweet Stop, but certainly not the last time I will play in the weekly sketch challenges. Thank you, Korin, so very much for allowing me to be a part of your awesome weekly sketch challenge design team! You come up with some of the BEST sketches out there... not to mention DIGI images. I'll always be a fan!!!

Please be sure to stop by and see what the rest of the Sugar Babies have created with this sketch... and to say farewell to the other girls who are also retiring this month. It's always sad to say goodbye, but we look forward to seeing what the new Sugar Babies have in store to inspire and WOW us.

Have a "one of a kind" sort of day!!!

Sleepy Kitty

Happy Saturday everyone! Time for another awesome sketch challenge at The Sweet Stop! This week we have a "sketch with a spin," and the spin is fuzzy wuzzy!

Since ya'll know I LOVE my kitties, it was a natural for me to pull out this sweet digi image called Sleepy Kitty from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. In our house, the cats, especially Whitie, love to crawl into boxes and bags. It's more likely that I would find one of my dogs in my yarn basket. They love to sleep in the laundry basket. So funny.

I turned the sketch on its side for my card. The kitty is fuzzy wuzzy by applying Cotton Ball White fluff by Stampendous. I sure love the texture. Tip: when applying the glue, don't run over the digi lines. Smear city! I learned that the hard way. The Glue Pen works best because you can control the flow of the glue more easily and get around the lines.

The DP is from the Farm Fresh collection by October Afternoon, mounted on Kraft cardstock. The ribbon and button are from Papertrey Ink.

Be sure to click on over to The Sweet Stop to see the wonderful fuzzy wuzzy cards created by The Sugar Babies. I hope you'll play with us! This week's challenge comes with a chance to win a free digi stamp of your choice from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!

Have a wonderful, crafty day my friends!

Surprise!

I don't think anyone is more surprised than me. It's 1:30 am and I'm still up! I can't remember the last time I was up this late. This is going to be a short post because I'm starting to feel drunk from lack of sleep (hee). Thank goodness I've had The Nanny and George Lopez to keep me company. I love those shows... hilarious!

It's time for another fabulous sketch at The Sweet Stop. I couldn't resist this sweet new digi image from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps called Naughty Kitty. I colored her gray since my Jazzy is a gray tabby. The DP is some of my favorite from the Report Card collection by October Afternoon. And there's my paper flower again! I just can't resist making them.

I hope you'll join us in the challenge this week! Be sure to hop over to the The Sweet Stop blog to see all the goodness created by the Sugar Babies.

I'd better get to bed before I fall over and hurt myself. I will love sleeping in... Have a great day my friends!

Guess hoo?

It's Olivia the Owl, of course! Coming to bring you some exciting news! Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is going all digital!!! That means more of the CUTE images and greetings you've come to expect from SNSS will be released every week for your crafting pleasure! If you haven't already, you should definitely sign up for the weekly newsletter so that you'll be the first to see the new digis and hear all the news.

What this also means is that all clear stamps are on sale for 50% off!!! Yes, indeed. That includes the two sets I used to create my card, Owl Celebrations and Owl Occasions. Each set is only $3.75!!! That means you can get both for $7.50!!! And SNSS offers first-class shipping, so the value is incredible!!!

I wouldn't wait, if I were you...the remaining clear stamps are going to fly off the shelf!!!

To celebrate, there's a blog hop today over at the Digi Blog where you have a chance to win an entire month's new digi releases PLUS everyone has a chance to get this adorable digi image for FREE!!!

Isn't it cute!!!! This and so much more awaits you at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!!!

What does this mean for me? Well, Korin very kindly invited the Stamp DT to either join the Digi DT or The Sugar Babies (sketch crew). Since I can't resist a good sketch challenge, I chose the latter. I'm excited to say that I am now officially A Sugar Baby for The Sweet Stop and will debut with this coming Saturday's sketch!!! And even if I'm not officially part of the Digi DT, you can bet I'll be using lots of SNSS digis since I am and always will be a huge fan of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I'm incredibly grateful to Korin... Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps was my very first DT position. Thank you Korin for taking a chance on me!!!

Speaking of sketch challenges, my card follows Mercy's Sketch Challenge #58. I LOVE Mercy's sketches!

Thank YOU for stopping by today. Enjoy the digi hop, and I'll see you back here tomorrow for a very special sneak peek!

I've a Song in My Heart

This is my second post for today. Please scroll down to see my card for this week's challenge at Stampin' Sisters in Christ.

A double feature today! As I mentioned in my last post, I was inspired by all the wonderful things I saw at the Road To California quilt show. One thing I love to do is needlework. It's been a long time since I've tried my hand, but I couldn't resist any longer and bought some patterns and materials to create a small redwork quilt.

Enabler alert: if you love stitching and/or felt work, check out Bird Brain Designs. They were at the show, and from whom I purchased my stitching goodies. Lovely ladies, and such wonderful patterns and good prices! Note the freebie patterns on their website.

When I was looking at all the many redwork patterns, I thought of this adorable design from Melody of Love by Rachel Zimmerman for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps... it's perfect for redwork, don't you think? So my card is a nod to the beautiful redwork women have enjoyed making for ages.

Gotta run. I've got a MOUNTAIN of laundry calling my name and several other things I must get done, especially since I'll be at CHA all next weekend. Yay!!!

Thanks for stopping by, my friends. I hope you enjoy a day full of all the things you love to do!

ENABLER ALERT... ENABLER ALERT!

Feast your eyes on these wonderful images!!! Run, don't walk, to Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and take advantage of an amazing opportunity to buy all six sets (each has one image and one or more greetings)... everything you see above...for $40!!!!!! Of course, they are all available individually, and the three flowers of the month are available as a bundle for only $12, but I'd go for the package deal myself if I were you! (hee)

I'm sorry I don't have a card to share with you right now. I'm afraid I've caught a nasty flu... body aches from head to toe, and can't keep anything down. I'm hoping I start feeling better today and can not only make a card or two, but visit many of your blogs and answer a few emails. Please bear with me!

Gotta run. Happy shopping! I can't wait to see what you come up with using these adorable images!!!

Love You Lots!

Hello my friends! Is this not one of the cutest images you've ever seen!!! It's from Eskimo Kisses, a new mini stamp set being released by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps on Thursday, January 7th. I just love love love this cute stamp and the three sweet sayings it comes with! You can get peeks at the other five stamp sets being released on Thursday at the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps blog.

My card follows Sketch Challenge 261 at Splitcoaststampers. So fun! The DP is from Papertrey Ink (Rustic Snowflakes).

I realize this is a short post today, but I've only got a few minutes during my lunch hour at work. It's taking me a couple of days to get fully back in the swing of things.

Please join me tomorrow for a blog hop you won't want to miss!!!

Have a wonderful day!

Hey Sweet Pea!

A quick post today to showcase this adorable stamp set called Punny Fruits & Veggies... one of this month's new releases from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. They are perfect for all sorts of fun cards, but Valentine cards are beginning to come to mind. I could see making up some of each for my child's class exchange... how fun!

The paper is from My Mind's Eye. I tried out my new Spellbinders frame for the first time, and once again pulled out my MS deep cut punch... love it! There really is more dimension and embossing to the frame than appears in the picture. I also paper-toled the leaves and baby peas. This would have been a fun shaker card. In fact, I think I'm going to do that very thing next time, so stay tuned!

Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is holding three Design Team Calls, one for each its rubber stamp line, its digi line, and for guest designers. If you're interested in joining a very talented and lovely group of Christian women, you should definitely check it out. I know I've been truly blessed by my participation.

There is also a huge clearance sale going on and... as always...all stamps are marked down at least 25%. Many are now marked down 70%. Like my husband Paul would say, the more you spend, the more you save!

Have a wonderful day, my friends. I'll be back soon with the winners of my Birthday Blog Candy!

Christmas Blessings

Today is a glorious day... the Second Sunday in Advent. I just love the holy seasons of Christmas and Easter and the special services at church. They refresh my soul!

Speaking of soul refreshing, our hostess for today's scripture challenge at Stampin' Sisters in Christ is the wonderful Ceal Pritchett, who is also my DT sister for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps... and Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is once again the sponsor of our challenge! Yay Korin! Thank you soooo much!

Ceal chose the following scripture for inspiration: 2 Chronicles 7:14 "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." (NIV)

Ceal's challenge is to make a card to let someone you know that you are praying for them, using images of people.

As I said in the SSCC blog post, while we most certainly should pray for others, we should also pray for ourselves. I don't mean this in a selfish way. Today's scripture tells us to humble ourselves and pray and seek God's face, and He will hear us. God wants us to have a personal relationship with Him, and we do that in large part by talking to Him through our prayers. There is certainly no greater path to joy, solace and peace than by turning to God and allowing Him to be the father He wants to be to each of us.

My card might not appear to go along with the challenge, but my prayer for each of you is for Christmas blessings.

The sweet image is a digi stamp by Chris Dickinson for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps called The Greatest Gift. The DP is more of the scrumptious holiday paper by Webster's Pages, as is the lace. I followed Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge #50, although I mine is square. I'm totally hooked on Mercy's sketches!

Enabler alert: Korin has added some seasonal stamps to the clearance sale... 70% off!!! You also MUST check out the two new releases for this month, Punny Fruits & Veggies and Trees of the Field.

I'm so glad you stopped by today. Don't forget... there's still one more week to enter for a chance to win one of my five Birthday Blog Candy prize packages! See the link at the top of my blog.

You're a Peach!

Is it Tuesday already? Wow, I've been so busy celebrating my birthday and getting back into the swing of work, the past couple of days are a blur!

I cannot tell you how blessed you all made me feel with your heartfelt good wishes for my birthday. The birthday party blog hop thrown by my Stampin' Sisters in Christ was also amazing and made me laugh and cry all at the same time...especially the Donny Osmond video (if you have time, you must check it out). Wowsers, do I feel like a queen! Thank you thank you thank you from the bottom of my heart. Truly.

Today also happens to be December 1st, so time for a fabulous new release from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps! Two wonderful stamp sets are being released today: Trees of the Field (a portion of the proceeds from which will go to the Anderson family in honor of their precious Henry), and Punny Fruits & Veggies, which I've sampled for you today. This is such a great set for Valentine cards, don't you think?

The cardstock is Prism, and the DP is from the Nook & Pantry collection by Basic Grey (perfect for this whimsical stamp set!). I'm entering my card in this week's Crazy4Challenges Week 13 challenge - Punch Happy. The challenge is to use border, shape or decorative punches on your card. I used a Martha Stewart border punch along the top, a square punch to punch out the images, a circle punch for the greeting, and a flower punch for the greeting mat.

If you're reading this in your Google (or similar) Reader or by email, don't forget to post a comment in the post below for a chance to win one of five prize packages for my birthday blog candy. I'm paying it forward!

Danielle, Becky, Des, Marianne... that includes you!

Thanks so much for stopping by... it's always a pleasure to have you visit. I hope you'll come back tomorrow for the La-La Land Weekly Wednesday Challenge: Button, Button, Who's Got the Button. (That's a hint...haha.)

Have a very pun day!

Winter Wonderland

Hey y'all! (I'm channeling Paula Deen.) Happy Day After Thanksgiving! I meant to post yesterday, but I spent most of Wednesday doing absolutely nothing... at least not craft wise. I did, however, scratch 6 or 7 things off my to-do list, and I finally watched the movie Twilight.

I didn't hate it. Okay that might sound terrible to those who are huge fans of the books and movies, but it really isn't. I'm just the wrong demographic. But I do appreciate that it very likely stayed true to the book, and I do think they cast the movie very well. Lots of unknown actors, but (I think) perfect for their respective rolls.

That actually got me to thinking about whether I've ever been wild for something the way folks are for Twilight. I honestly can't think of any such instance. The closest I could come was my crush on Donny Osmond when I was about 13. (Who, by the way, I hear just won Dancing With the Stars. I saw a couple of commercials for the show, and I must say Donny is looking good for a guy in his early 50's. So don't count us middle-aged folks out just yet!)

Anyway, that led me to thinking about who during my generation would have played the Twilight characters well. I came up with Julia Roberts and Richard Gere as Bella and Edward, George Clooney as Carlysle, maybe Angelina Jolie as Esme, Brad Pitt as Jasper, Madonna as Rosalie. I have the perfect person in mind for Alice, but I can't think of her name to save my life. Am I onto something or what? Hahaha! Edited to add: It's Meg Tilly I was thinking of for Alice. And perhaps Demi Moore instead of Angelina Jolie for Esme... Demi is a bit more innocent looking. Ha!

But I digress, as usual.

We had a good Thanksgiving, just the six of us. It's the first time I've ever done the entire Thanksgiving dinner without the help of my MIL. I'm usually her sous chef. This time Paul was mine. We actually did really well. Everything came out hot at the same time and was pretty tasty, if I do say so myself. I guess helping Jo all those years taught me more than I realized. Oh, and thanks Nancy for the excellent Pennsylvania Dutch Potato Filling recipe. We loved it!

Now I'm trying not to panic over the fact that Christmas is less than a month away. Here in California, we're having Spring-like weather, so it's hard to "feel" Christmassy. I made a wintery card for inspiration!

Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge 49 is perfect for the images found in Winter Fun With Sam and Gretchen by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I decided to add a little whimsy by having the bird pull Gretchen's sled...wouldn't that be something you might see in a winter wonderland?

That is, of course, Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses DP, and Prism cardstock. I put a little White Sparkly Fluff along the bottom of the sled, and then punched and glittered a snowflake for the finishing touch.

You might be wondering where my sample is for the Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge. Well, because of the holidays, Taylor is taking the week off from the sketch challenge. Instead, she's running a HOT Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale:

In honor of Black Friday and Cyber Monday (the two biggest shopping days of the year!), Taylored Expressions is offering 15% off everything in the store! Just use the promotional code TEBlackFriday upon checkout to receive the discount. You don't want to miss up to 50% off all JustRite products, Buy 2 Get 1 Free on Tiny Twinkles, and the new TE Shirts & Aprons!

I don't know about you, but I'll be filling my basket for sure! Have I mentioned lately how much I LOVE Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients Kits? And did you know Taylor carries Copic markers, lots of Spellbinders, tons of rhinestones and other embellishments, ribbon galore, and the cutest darn stamp sets? The list goes on, my friends. And I can't wait to get my hands on one of the new t-shirts!

I hope you have a wonderful Friday. Are you getting out amongst them at the stores and shopping malls, doing your part to stimulate the economy? Me, I'll probably lay low and do some on-line shopping. There are still so many things I want to get done before going back to work on Monday, and time is slipping away so quickly...

Thanks for stopping by!

Peace

TGIF!!! It's time for another awesome Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge!

Can I just pause for a moment and say how much fun I'm having being part of the Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge Sketch Crew? Yes, I am! Taylor's sketches are so much fun to work with. You gotta jump in and join us this week!

For my card, I used one of my favorite Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps images, My Little Chickadee. I think this image is perfect for a winter card, and I'm loving it paired with this SEI DP from the Christmas Mint Collection.

And check out my new Martha Stewart punch! Isn't it cool? I went to Michael's in search of one of those new punch around the page sets, but I didn't like the ones they had left. Then I spied these giant deep cut punches and immediately snatched up two of them. I can't even find them on line to show you a picture. If you can, run down to Michaels by Saturday and hopefully you'll get lucky on MS punches because they are all on sale for 30% off.

Back to my card... the trick is to cut a full layering panel (mine is Vanilla) and then cut your DP and position it so that you get the interior and edge borders. I couldn't resist the brown and white polka dot ribbon to "tie" it all together. And I must say I'm enjoying stamping solid images and taking a break from coloring. But never fear, I shall return to my beloved Copics soon!

For more inspiration, check out what the rest of the Sketch Crew has created to delight your senses:

and of course Taylor herself: Taylored Expressions

I can't wait to see what you do with this sketch! I'll see you tomorrow for the Friends of Faith Blog Hop. In the meantime, I hope you have a peaceful day!

Winter Basket

Happy Monday! I figure we need to keep a positive attitude about Mondays. After all, if our lives were counted by weekends, we'd only have 52 in a year. Think of all that we'd miss!

Today's card follows Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge #46. This is my first time playing in Mercy's sketch challenge, and it won't be my last! I just LOVE a good sketch challenge to get the juices flowing!

My card also fits the challenge at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Digi Day Challenge #1 at SNR Card Universe. I know I'm a wee bit behind in submitting my card, but there's still time for YOU to play, too, and get this adorable FREE DIGI designed by the sweet Leah Cornelius! All you have to do is feature holly somewhere in your card, and you can use any stamps you want (but if you have some Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, why not show them some love?). Your card must be uploaded to the SNR website by Thursday morning.

My card features another wonderful digi stamp by Leah called Pinecones & Holly. It's a bit difficult to see in the photo, but I put a touch of glitter on the pinecones and berries. It really sparkles IRL. The DP is, of course, Cosmo Cricket (love love love Cosmo Cricket) and the cardstock by Prism.

Speaking of which, TODAY is Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps 2nd Birthday, and there's LOTS going on to celebrate at the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps forum at Papercraft Planet. Come join us for challenges, prizes, lots of fun, and to wish Korin a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I'll be back soon with more to share. Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a berry tweet day!

Happy Birthday Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!

Note: this is my SECOND post for today. Please scroll down for my post for this week's Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge.

November 9th is the second birthday of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, and we are kicking off the celebration with a blog hop to showcase the debut of the Sunbeams!

I gave you a sneak peek of Caitlyn (with the birthday cake) in my October 25th post. My card today showcases Owen. You can just feel his delight as he rips open his birthday presents. I can totally relate! (The sentiment is from Birthday Buddies.)

My card also follows this week's sketch challenge at The Sweet Stop. I don't make long cards very often, but always find it fun when I do! I made sure this would fit into a standard envelope, so it's 4 x 9. Why don't you come along and play with us this week? You can use any stamps you want!

Be sure to hop around and visit the rest of the Design Team to see more Sunbeam goodness!

Ceal Pritchett
Chris Dickinson
Janette Olen
Korin Sutherland
Leah Cornelius
Lorie Souther
Nancy Brown
Sandy Domelle
Teresa Kline

And then be sure to visit the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps store to see a slide show of more awesome samples of the Sunbeams, and preorder your very own set! Only $20 for all four! Yowsers!

I'm also very proud and happy to announce that effective today, I am officially a Sr Design Team member for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. Woo hoo!!!

Thanks so much for hopping by. I hope you have a sunbeamy day!
