Happy Saturday! It's time for the latest sketch challenge from Sketch Saturday!!!

It's Maya's turn to host our sketch challenge, and she's come up with a great sketch! Best of all, our sponsor this week is the sensational Tickled Pink Stamps!!! And my dear friend Debbie Pamment is Guest Designer for the month of February! I'm thrilled!!!

Naturally, I reached for a Tickled Pink Stamps image... the digi version of 60's Willow. I love rubber, but one nice thing about digis is that you can size them any way you want. In this case, I focused on Willow's upper half. She is one groovy girl! (60's Willow, as well as the rest of the Li'l Lolitas and Li'l Lads, is available in both rubber and digi.)

I have two tips for you today: (1) be very careful about tweaking the coloring of your image after it's done... I had taken great time and care coloring Willow and putting my card together, but for some crazy reason decided to touch up her hair a bit more rather than leave well enough alone. BIG mistake. I don't know if it was because I was tired or under pressure or both, but I tried SIX different times to recreate the look I had previously created, to no avail. I finally gave up, went to bed and tackled it again the next day. So frustrating! And (2) color the hardest part of the image first so that if you mess up you can start again without having wasted time coloring the easy parts. I live and learn. (sigh) But I'm happy with the way Willow finally came together. The Li'l Lolita and Li'l Lads images are such fun!

Cheers indeed! I was the lucky winner of FIVE Li'l Lolita digi images from Tickled Pink Stamps this week as part of their month-long birthday celebration. Woo hoo!!! This is one of the five I picked... Vampire Lilith. I made the greeting on my computer, thinking it went well with the blood wine she's drinking. (*grin*)

Of course, since it's Saturday, that means it's time for another fabulous sketch challenge at Sketch Saturday! I flipped the sketch on its side. I couldn't quite fit embellies on top and bottom of the image, but hopefully the pumpkin will do. (*grin*)

I had a blast playing with my new Tim Holtz Paper Rosettes die. The DP is from the Toil & Trouble collection by The Girls' Paperie (which I LOVE). The bat and pumpkin are by K&Company.

I know it's on to Thanksgiving and Christmas now in the card making world, but technically Halloween is still two weeks away and I have a bunch of goodies I want to use up, so you'll likely see a few more Halloween cards from me before it's over. I promised the kids we'd decorate the house a bit this weekend. We used to have a big party every year for Halloween back when the kids were young and went trick or treating. I really miss those days. (sigh)

Don't Fret Dearie

Woot woot! It's time for our third challenge at The Burtonesque Dolls! We're being sponsored this week by Tickled Pink Stamps, the purveyor of a new exclusive line of stamps called Lil Lolita. My card features Lilith. (The greeting is by Papertrey Ink from the Scattered Showers stamp set.) Thank you Kellie for allowing us to play with your wonderful images!

Our challenge this week is Burton Elements... include skullies and black flowers in your project (cute ones). I immediately reached for my retired Stampin Up DP that you've been seeing a lot here lately (haha), plus those cute black spotted flowers from a past Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients kit, and voila! A very simple design, but I think one with a lot of pop. I'm not good at gruesome, so my cards tend to lean on the cutsie side... which is just fine. You can go any way you want with this challenge!
