My Last Chapter... for now

CHAPTER 15: New ideas are SWIRLING...doors are opening...all in our little WONDERLAND...

"'It's no use talking about it,' Alice said, looking up at the house and pretending it was arguing with her. `I'm not going in again yet. I know I should have to get through the looking-glass again -- back into the old room -- and there'd be an end of all my adventures!'

So, resolutely turning back upon the house, she set out once more down the path, determined to keep straight on 'til she got to the hill. For a few minutes all went on well, and she was just saying, `I really shall do it this time -- ' when the path gave a sudden twist and shook itself (as she described it afterwards), and the next moment she found herself actually walking in at the door..."

Hello everyone! There's lots of excitement today as Oh, Alice! enters a new door! There are always twists and turns down Alice's path, and with that, there is good news, and some sad news, but we are all looking forward to the next Chapter in WONDERLAND!

First off, CONGRATS TO LYNNE PHELPS! YOU are the challenge winner and will grace the Oh, Alice! Tea Party for the month of JUNE! It was a seriously TOUGH decision for the Mad Hatter (Jess) to make, but everyone LOVED Lynne's creation and the vote was nearly unanimous! We are very excited and can't wait for next week when Lynne officially gets started!

Today we are also excited to welcome LITTLE PAPER SHOP as this week's challenge sponsor! The very generous Julia has not only let the DT play with this adorably cute ALICE digi stamp, but is offering a $15 Gift Certificate to the Little Paper Shop to one lucky winner this week! We can't thank Julia enough for this fabulous sponsorship and can't wait to see your creations this week. Our Challenge this week is a fun one!

Since there are so many ideas "SWIRLING" around at Oh, Alice! and they can't wait to bring you the next three months worth of challenges, they want to see what YOU have swirling around! The challenge is to USE SWIRLS on your card/project this week. You can use DP, stamps, bling...whatever swirls up your own creativity! You have until Friday, June 4th at 8pm CST to upload your card/creation using Inlinkz in this week's challenge post on Oh, Alice! One random winner will be chosen to WIN the Little Paper Shop gift certificate, to be announced next week on the Oh, Alice! blog! GOOD LUCK and get those ideas swirlin'!

Be sure to stop by the Oh, Alice! blog to see all the WONDERful swirl creations by the awesome design team!

A personal note from me: It is with heartfelt thanks and a bit of sadness that I say farewell to the Oh, Alice! Design Team (aka The Twisted Thirteen). What a truly FUN and memorable ride it's been down the rabbit hole with Jess and these amazing ladies! I will always be grateful to Jess for allowing me to be a part of this awesome challenge... and for the new friends I made during my time there.

Betty, Catherine, Mary, Pam and I are jumping off for now, but there are some amazing ladies jumping on starting in June. I, for one, will be keeping my eye out and playing in as many challenges as I can. I hope you will, too!

And thanks Jess for this awesome certificate! You and I will always be friends... and hopefully see each other again at CHA!!! Hugs and best wishes to you, sweet girl!!!

A note about my card: That amazing DP is Beautiful Blooms by Papertrey Ink (love love love!), paired with Hawaiian Shores cardstock. The brads are by Stampin Up!

Have a BLOOMING good day!

Flower Fairy

Note: this is my second post for today. Please be sure to scroll down for some exciting news!

CHAPTER 14: Gettin' Sketchy in the Golden Afternoon...

"Little bread-and-butterflies kiss the tulips,
and the sun is like a toy balloon.
There are get up in the morning glories,
in the golden afternoon.
There are dizzy daffodils on the hillside,
strings of violets are all in tune,
Tiger lilies love the dandy lions,
in the golden afternoon,
the golden afternoon.
There are dog and caterpillars and a copper centipede,
where the lazy daisies love the very peaceful life they lead... "

Hey everyone! Oh, Alice! has a wonderful Sketch for you today designed by our own Jen Shults! Here's her awesome design:

Our sketch challenge comes with just a small twist this week....

Ok, its HUGE!

ONE PLAYER will be chosen this week based on all of the entries (and we know it's going to be TOUGH!!!) to be our JUNE GUEST TEA PARTY MEMBER for Oh, Alice! That's right! The DT will be feverishly going through your creations to choose next month's Guest Designer, so if you've been wanting to be our Guest at our totally TWISTED Tea Party, now is your chance!

Need some inspiration to get ya going? Check out the samples from our TOTALLY TWISTED Tea Party on the Oh, Alice! blog. Here's my card to start you off:

The contest will be open until THURSDAY May 26th at 11:59 PM CST to enter your creation (please notice the earlier time limit this week so we have time to go over entries, contact the winner, and announce her by our next Challenge on the 28th!). A preliminary note to all-since we know this is going to be a VERY hard decision, please do not be discouraged if your creation isn't chosen as we have plenty of opportunities coming up each month and have tons of fun up our sleeves! We are so thrilled that the blog is going strong and can't wait to see what's next for Oh, Alice!

Please don't forget to upload your creation on the Oh, Alice! Chapter 14 blog post and use keyword OAC14 if you use a public gallery, thanks!

GOOD LUCK everyone!

A note about my card: I love the "story" that goes along with this week's challenge, which reminded me of a spring or summer meadow. And who might you find in such a meadow? Why, a flower fairy, of course! My friend and chief enabler Alice turned me on to Lili of the Valley stamps, and I couldn't resist this sweet image. It seemed perfect for the theme of the sketch challenge, even if it isn't an "Alice in Wonderland" image. I think Alice has fallen asleep somewhere nearby and that's why the flower fairy was brave enough to come out and smell the flowers. (*grin*)

The DP is from the DeLovely collection by Cosmo Cricket. I made the bow by tying two bows together and attaching them to the flat strip. I'll try to do a tutorial soon. This technique works great with organdy ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by! And to all my friends who must think I've become a snob since I haven't been by to visit or email lately, please bear with me. I've got a lot going on right now, but things should settle down in early June. In the meantime, I'm making the rounds slowly but surely. I see you in my Google Reader even if I don't have time to stop and say hi!

Have a flowery day!

P.S. I'm finally entering a challenge at Flutterby Wednesday, which I've been meaning to do for ages! This card fits the current challenge (#110)... to use flowers with your butterfly, fairy or angel. Yay!

Charge!!!

 CHAPTER 13: Mushroom Inspiration...

"Oh dear! I'd nearly forgotten that I've got to grow up again! Let me see--how IS it to be managed? I suppose I ought to eat or drink something or other; but the great question is, what?''

Alice looked all round her at the flowers and the blades of grass, but she did not see anything that looked like the right thing to eat or drink under the circumstances. There was a large mushroom growing near her, about the same height as herself; and when she had looked under it, and on both sides of it, and behind it, it occurred to her that she might as well look and see what was on the top of it..."

Good day, everyone!

Today at Oh, Alice! we have a fabulous inspiration piece for you and are SO excited! Here is your inspiration photo for this week's challenge:

We can't WAIT to see what you do with this week's challenge, and are even more excited to announce that this week, Oh, Alice! is being sponsored by the wonderful Victoria Case Designs!!   How awesome is THAT?

And just WAIT until you check out the Prize!  Victoria is SUPER generous and is offering 5 Rubber Stamps to one lucky winner!  Can you believe that?!?  Thanks so much, Victoria!

You have until Friday, May 20th at 8pm CST to enter to qualify for this awesome prize!  Be sure to link your creation on the Oh, Alice! blog, and if you're uploading to a public gallery, please use OAC13 as your keyword.

We have a feeling the entries are going to be amazing this week. To kick-start your mojo, just check out the rest of the DT's creations on the Oh, Alice! blog!.

Good luck, everyone and have a CURIOUS week!

A note about my card: I focused mainly on the colors for my challenge card, so I used cardstock and DP from the In the Kitchen Project Pantry kit. That adorable image is Daphne, a digi download for instant gratification. I just love her!!! Isn't she adorable? I figure that with her red bag, she's ready to go shopping... CHARGE!!! (*smile*) As a nod to the mushroom theme, I added a chipboard mushroom from Cosmo Cricket's Earth Love collection.

Alice Holds the Key?

CHAPTER 12: Curiosity is Key...

"Suddenly Alice came upon a little three-legged table, all made of solid glass; there was nothing on it except a tiny golden key, and Alice's first thought was that it might belong to one of the doors of the hall; but, alas! either the locks were too large, or the key was too small, but at any rate it would not open any of them. However, on the second time round, she came upon a low curtain she had not noticed before, and behind it was a little door about fifteen inches high: she tried the little golden key in the lock, and to her great delight it fitted!"

Hello again! Welcome back to our Oh, Alice challenge! This week your curiosity is KEY to this week's challenge.

Rather, the Key IS the challenge! Yep! Let's see how YOU open the door to your creativity this week using a KEY as your inspiration. You can use embellishments, DP, stamps, whatever KEY elements you have to play is fine with us!

There's no time limit to play this week, however, entries are always appreciated by everyone at Oh, Alice! and we'd love to stop by your blogs to see your beautiful creations. Your participation is KEY to all of this and to show you just how much we thank you, we have a fantastic prize next week along with a fun few announcements too!

Have a Curious week, everyone!

A note about my card: that sweet image is from a stamp set called Signature by The Greeting Farm, which must be sold out because I can't find it on the website. My KEY element is the keyhole by Melissa Frances, through which I threaded the ribbon. The DP is by Doodlebug Designs, part of a past Key Ingredients kit by Taylored Expressions.

Princess

 CHAPTER 11:  Little People...Big Wonderland

"Tweedledum and Tweedledee
Agreed to have a battle;
For Tweedledum said Tweedledee
Had spoiled his nice new rattle.

Just then flew down a monstrous crow,
As black as a tar-barrel;
Which frightened both the heroes so,
They quite forgot their quarrel."

Hello and welcome back!  This week, we are SUPER excited to tell you that we are being sponsored by the fabulous BUGABOO Stamps!  The owner, Jodie, is just as sweet as can be, and when she offered to sponsor Oh, Alice! we were thrilled!

Since we are talking about those two curious little Tweedles, Dee and Dum, today, let's get right down to your mission this week, should you choose to accept it!   CREATE a card, layout, or project for a CHILD. This can mean using children's images, making a layout of a child, creating a kid's birthday card or room decor, you name it!  The possibilities are endless!

The PRIZE this week is a GREAT one, too, thanks to BUGABOO!  ONE lucky winner will receive 7 digi images of their choice!  That's a prize worth more than $21.00!  Thanks so much to Jodie and the Bugaboo Crew!

You have until Friday, May 7th at 8pm CST to link your creation to Mr. Linky on the Oh, Alice! blog, and the winner will be announced next Saturday!  Please use keyword OAC11 when linking to a public gallery, thanks and have a great week!

A note about my card: As I've mentioned in previous posts, I'm running behind this week... chasing my tail, as my friend Debbie would say. So I planned to make my Oh, Alice! challenge card last night while at a "crop" with Betty Boo, our friend Alicia, and Betty's daughter Rio and her friend London. I was even running behind getting there on time, so was packing up in a hurry. I figured it would be okay... if I forgot anything, I could borrow from Betty or Alicia (ha!).

So I get there and Betty asks me what I'm making for my Oh, Alice! challenge card. At which time I realized I have no Bugaboo images with me!!! So I ask Betty if she has any extras. She only has the one she's working on for the challenge. I couldn't believe it! My back-up plan was failing! Just then, Betty's daughter Rio showed me she had some Bugaboo images... all colored up. So I talked her out of one of them... the one you see on my card.

I then had to shop for the right paper and embellishments, and finally came up with this, which I think is kinda funny juxtaposed with Skelekinz My Heart. I fussy cut a scene out of the paper, slightly changed the coloring Rio had already done of the image, adding glimmer with atYou Spica pens, and then found these funky flowers called Flora Doodles by Petaloo to tie all the colors together.

Sometimes it takes a village to make a card! Thanks Rio! And thanks Betty and Alicia for loaning me things I needed to make my card. I had a blast!!! You girls are sooooo fun to be with!!!

Please stop back by at 11:00 am Pacific for the new release Blog Waltz for Waltzingmouse Stamps. It's a huge first birthday celebration that you won't want to miss!!!

Wonderland Bakery

CHAPTER 10: QUEEN OF TARTS...

"On this the White Rabbit blew three blasts on the trumpet, and then unrolled the parchment scroll, and read as follows:

`The Queen of Hearts, she made some tarts,
All on a summer day:
The Knave of Hearts, he stole those tarts,
And took them quite away!'"

Uh ohhhhhhh...someone has stolen the Queen's Tarts!  That's a no-no!  We need to restore the sweetness back to Wonderland, don't you agree?   That means it's time for a sweet treat here...or maybe a mushroom or two?  I think I saw one floating around here that said "Eat Me" ;)

Your mission for this week's Oh, Alice! Challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to incorporate FOOD into this week's project!   Everyone loves a little treat, right?

We have ANOTHER TREAT for you today...and it's a rather LARGE and generous portion!   We are thrilled to welcome CLEAR AND SIMPLE STAMPS as our sponsor this week!   The fabulous prize?  A whopping $25 Gift Certificate to the Clear and Simple Stamps Store!   We are so excited and grateful and can't wait to see what delectable delights YOU come up with...and also to see who the random winner of the $25 Gift Certificate will be!

Please have your entries linked on the Oh, Alice! Challenge blog by FRIDAY April 30th at 8PM CST to enter to win the $25 Gift Certificate, and be sure to stop by the CLEAR AND SIMPLE STAMPS store to savor the sweetness they have for sale!  We can't wait to see what delectable delights YOU come up with! Please use keyword OAC10 when uploading the a public gallery...thanks!

Life is short...SAVOR the SWEETNESS!
A short note about my card: The DP is from the Nook & Pantry collection by Basic Grey. The cute bakery window scene was created using Bakery Business  and Window Shopping by Taylored Expressions. Love love love!!! And the adorable button is from the Bakery Buttons collection, also from Taylored Expressions.

Be sure to stop by the Oh, Alice! Challenge blog to see the rest of the FOOD creations by the Twisted Thirteen!

Have a sweet day!

Tea Anyone?

CHAPTER 9: Somewhere in the Sunny, Sketchy, Afternoon...

Alice in Wonderland, how do you get to Wonderland?
Over the hill or underland, or just behind the tree?
When clouds go rolling by, they roll away and leave the sky.
Where is the land beyond the eye, that people can not see, where can it be?
Where do stars go, where is the crescent moon?
They must be somewhere in the sunny afternoon.
Alice in Wonderland, where is the path to Wonderland?
Over the hill or here or there, I wonder where.

Hello!  Hopefully it's a Sunny, Golden afternoon in your neck of Wonderland! Oh, Alice! has a Sketch Challenge for you today brought to you by our very own TASHA!  Here's the sketch:
We hope you'll join us this week down the Rabbit Hole for this fun sketch. What's more?  There is a VERY generous prize offering this week from The BEARY SCRAP!   The Beary Scrap is a sweet one-stop shop for all of your papercrafting needs and are offering an AMAZING $20 Gift Voucher for one lucky winner this week!

So let's get started!  Finish that tea and get crafting!  There's no time limit to use this FABULOUS sketch, but if you want to throw your MAD HAT into the ring for the $20 Gift Voucher, please link your entry in Mr. Linky on the Oh, Alice! challenge blog by Friday, April 23rd at 8pm CST!  The winner will be announced on Saturday, April 24th with our next Challenge!  Good luck!
A word about my card: that sweet image is Spot of Tea from Pixie Dust Studios. The DP is from the Early Bird collection by Cosmo Cricket. That cool font I used to make my greeting (Tea Anyone?) is a freebie called Beyond Wonderland. Thanks Candace!

Be sure and click over to the Oh, Alice! blog to see what the rest of the Twisted Thirteen (or fourteen or fifteen) have cooked up with this awesome sketch!

Have a WONDERful weekend!

M.A.D. Flowers?

CHAPTER 8: You can learn a lot of things from the FLOWERS...

"Never mind!" Alice said in a soothing tone, and stooping down to the daisies, who were just beginning again, she whispered, "If you don't hold your tongues, I'll pick you!"

There was silence in a moment, and several of the pink daisies turned white.

"That's right!" said the Tiger-lily. "The daisies are worst of all. When one speaks, they all begin together, and it's enough to make one wither to hear the way they go on!"

"How is it you can all talk so nicely?" Alice said, hoping to get it into a better temper by a compliment. "I've been in many gardens before, but none of the flowers could talk."

Hello everyone!  What a sweet, sunny sign of Spring it is when all of our floral friends come out to play! At the Oh, Alice! blog, we definitely agree with Alice that you can learn a lot of things from the flowers!  This week's challenge? You guessed it! USE FLOWERS on your card or project!

We have ANOTHER generous prize to give away this week!  We at Oh, Alice! are just floored at the outpouring of generosity from these wonderful companies and are thrilled to announce that this week's prize is being donated by STAMPOTIQUE

That's right!  ONE RANDOM WINNER will be chosen to WIN a $15 GC to the STAMPOTIQUE store! (They sell rubber stamps and other goodies :)   Good luck! We'll announce the winner during next week's challenge, so get those entries in by Friday, April 16th at 8pm CST!    Make sure you link your creation to Mr. Linky on the Oh, Alice! blog, and use OAC8 as your keyword when uploading to a gallery.

Here's my FLOWER card for this week's challenge:

I followed the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #63 and used the adorable Wonderland stamp set from The Greeting Farm, which is now available in digi form (the original rubber set has been retired). The DP, flowers and brads are by Bo Bunny.

Speaking of The Greeting Farm, which is one of my FAVORITE stamp  companies, they sponsored last week's challenge at Oh, Alice!, which I missed. So I'm bringing you a double-feature this week!

Last week's challenge was:

"But I don't want to go among mad people," Alice remarked.

"Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat: "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."

"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here..."

The challenge was to come up with your OWN M.A.D. creation:  Monochromatic and Distressed!  Here's my M.A.D. card:

That adorable image is Freaky Flutter, one of the three digi images known as the CREEPY CAKES donated by The Greeting Farm to the winner of last week's challenge. I just LOVE her! I used elements of the Taylored Expressions March Key Ingredients kit for my monochromatic creation. The DP is from the Brook collection by Crate Paper, which I distressed by using my edge tool and then inking with Ocean Mist by Papertrey Ink. The sketch is by the wonderful Cindy Haffner for the April 2nd Farm Fresh Friday challenge on the Splendid Stamping with The Greeting Farm blog. I'm too late for the contest, but I still love the sketch. I hope you likey my card!

I'm looking forward to a crafting day today with my friend Betty. I wish you were here, Des!

Thanks for stopping by my friends. I've been going through some "stuff" lately and haven't been around to visit your blogs in too long, but I'll be back around soon, I promise. Don't give up on me!

Happy UnBirthday!

CHAPTER 6: The Red Queen's FINE PRINT...

"The Red Queen shook her head, "You may call it 'nonsense' if you like," she said, "but I've heard nonsense, compared with which that would be as sensible as a dictionary!"

This week we're g
etting down to business and reading the "fine print" in Wonderland at the Oh, Alice! Challenge blog.

We're also SO excited to be welcoming Digital Delights by Louby Loo as our sponsor this week! WOW! What a lucky group we are! Wendy from Digital Delights has not only graced the Design Team with some super fun Alice-inspired images to use, but is giving away a TEN DOLLAR GIFT CERTIFICATE to one lucky winner who will be randomly drawn from all the entries this week! THANKS Wendy!

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to create a card using some form of TEXT/Printed DP, Old Book pages, Newspaper print, Old dictionary, etc. We just need to see SOME form of printed text on your card or project!

Need some inspiration WRITTEN out for you? Check out the samples on the Oh, Alice! Challenge blog from the Twisted Thirteen and our March Tea Party Guest Erin!

A note about my card: I used the adorable Madd Hatter Peyton image (so fun!), and took poetic license in coloring him up with my Copic Markers. The background is from the MK-Designs Tea Time Add-on digi pack from Shabby Pickle Designs (thank you Betty, my chief enabler, for turning me on to this site!). I resized one of the 12 x 12 papers to 5 x 5 before printing it out. I made the TEXT background myself. I also followed Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge #66.

Speaking of Betty, I got to meet her and her sweet (and adorable) daughter Rio tonight at our LSS for some scrapping/stamping time after first grabbing a bite to eat at Macaroni Grill (yum!). Betty is just as fun in person as she is on line. I'm so glad I've found a new friend to scrap with ... I've really missed crop nights since my BFF Des moved back to Arizona. (Hi Des! I miss you!) Betty and I are planning another crop day in April. So fun!

Have a WONDERful day!

Who R U?

CHAPTER 5: WHOOOOOOOO RRRRRRRRRRR YOUUUUUUUU?

"Who are YOU?" said the Caterpillar. This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation. Alice replied, rather shyly, "I--I hardly know, sir, just at present-- at least I know who I WAS when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then."

This week we are celebrating SPRING in Wonderland! And, we have some WONDERFUL winged-things to show off courtesy of this week's sponsor, our very own Design Team member Jen Shults! Jen's stamp company, Wild Flower Kids, has grown to be a favorite of ours and we are SO honored that she's agreed to sponsor the Oh, Alice! Challenge Blog. Jen was gracious enough to provide the Design Team with some of the wonderfully cute and whimsical images from her new digi stamp line "All-A-Flutter."

Be sure to check out the SUPER CUTE cards made by the Design Team using these sweet images! Just click on over to the Oh, Alice! Challenge Blog to see them.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it is to create a card using a CATERPILLAR or BUTTERFLY on your card/project this week! You have until 8:00 pm Central on Friday, March 26th to submit your entries. The winner will be announced on Saturday March 26th, and will receive the "All-a-Flutter" digital images pictured above from Jen!

Be sure to upload your card and link to Mr. Linky on the Oh, Alice! Challenge Blog. This week's keyword for public galleries is OAC5. HAPPY SPRING, everyone!

A note about my card: First, I gotta say again that the caterpillar smoking his words in the original Disney Alice in Wonderland movie is my favorite. "Who R U?" So funny.

My card loosely follows Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge #65. The DP and cardstock are from the Taylored Expressions Spa Key Ingredients Kit. I also used a funky new punch from Martha Stewart Crafts, which cuts the flower into the cardstock and is supposed to emboss the center. The embossing doesn't work very well, so I covered the centers with circles cut from the DP. It looks better IRL since you can see the blue cardstock underneath the flower petals, and it gives some dimension to the card.

I'm sure glad you stopped by for a visit today. I hope you'll join us down the rabbit hole at Oh, Alice! Have a great day!

Alice

Alice is the girl of the hour, isn't she? I still haven't been to see the movie, but hope to get there this weekend. Avery and I watched the old Disney classic last weekend... he had never seen it. We had to watch on the one and only TV around our house that has a VCR. Talk about a relic! I decided that my favorite character is the caterpillar... he's too funny blowing his smoke "words." That would be so NOT PC in today's world.

Anyhoo, it's time for another WONDERful challenge at Oh, Alice!

CHAPTER 4: Picturing Wonderland

"Thus grew the tale of Wonderland:Thus slowly, one by one,Its quaint events were hammered out -And now the tale is done,And home we steer, a merry crew,
Beneath the setting sun.

Alice! a childish story take,And with gentle hand lay it where Childhood's dreams are twined. In Memory's mystic band,Like pilgrim's wither'd wreath of flowers
Pluck'd in a far-off land..."

We have another sketch Challenge today, this time brought to us by our very own Pam Varnell! Pam created this sketch JUST for the Oh, Alice! DT blog and it reminds us of Wonderland itself!

We'd LOVE for you to plunge Down the Rabbit hole with us again this week! All you have to do is upload your creation and link it using Mr. Linky on the Oh, Alice! blog! The keyword this week for public galleries is OAC4.

There's no time limit for this week's sketch, so take your time in Wonderland and ENJOY!

A note about my card: I ADORE this sweet image of Alice and her white rabbit by Michelle Perkett Studios. I tried to jazz things up a bit by placing Kaisercraft Wine rhinestones over some of the burgundy flower centers in the Kioshi DP (Basic Grey). Unfortunately, they don't show up well in the photo.

I'll be back soon with today's sketch from The Sweet Stop. Have a WONDERful day!

Coffee, Tea or Me?

CHAPTER 3: Painting the Roses Red

"Would you tell me please," said Alice a little timidly, "Why are you painting those roses?" Five and Seven said nothing, but looked at Two. Two began in a low voice, "Why the fact is, you see, Miss, this here ought to have been a Red rose tree, and we put a white one in by mistake"...

Welcome back! We're painting the Roses RED...and blue...and purple....and hey, we're painting our NAILS too! Check out this AWESOMELY ALICE inspiration picture featuring this SUPER cool new O.P.I. Polish collection, "Wonderland."

(Makes me wish I were more daring and could actually wear colors like these!)

Before we get started, the Oh, Alice! Blog has a SPECIAL Tea Party Guest joining us for the month of March! Please welcome ERIN LEVEILLE as our March Tea Party Guest! Erin BLEW US AWAY with this card she submitted for the 1st Oh, Alice challenge and we are thrilled to have her at our Mad Tea party this month :) WELCOME ERIN!

What's more? We have a FABULOUS sponsor for this challenge-KRAFTIN' KIMMIE STAMPS! It just so happens that Kim is releasing some AWESOME Tea Party images this month and was gracious enough to donate a PRIZE pack of the new rubber stamp collection featuring these awesome new images! The DT is THRILLED To have been able to work with them, too!

WOW! Aren't they awesome? Now let's talk about how YOU can enter to win!

Play along with us this week by uploading your card or creation to Mr. Linky on the Oh, Alice Blog and by using keyword OAC3 if you upload to a public forum such as SCS :)

You will have until FRIDAY, MARCH 12th, 2010 to enter this challenge and the winner will be chosen via Random.org and announced during our next challenge on Saturday, March 13th! Good luck and have an AWESOMELY ALICE kind of week!

A note about my card: the DP is by GCD Studio, and the chipboard element is from the Fascinating chipboard elements collection by Pink Paislee. And, of course, those are three black candy dots to finish things off. The greeting is by Nina Brackett for GinaK Designs from the Heartily Yours stamp set.

I'm Late, I'm Late for a Very Important Date!

It's Saturday, which means it's time for another WONDERFUL trip down the rabbit hole with us at Oh, Alice! Yay!

CHAPTER TWO: Running in a SKETCHY circle...

"Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?"
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to," said the Cat.
"I don’t much care where--" said Alice.

"Then it doesn’t matter which way you go," said the Cat.

We have a fabulous sketch challenge today designed by our own TWISTED Tea Party member, Mary Giles! Here is the sketch:

We are VERY honored to be introducing our first sponsor to you today. Kathy from Pixie Dust Studios has VERY generously let us work with her new Digis from her "Down the Rabbit Hole" collection debuting March 1st! What's more? ONE LUCKY WINNER will be chosen at random from this week's participants to choose THREE FREE DIGIS of their choice from Pixie Dust Studios! Thank you Kathy!

My card features "White Rabbit" from Pixie Dust Studios. Isn't it he cutest?! I love him! The greeting is by Sassy Studios.

I've been wanting to use my new Taylored Expressions February Key Ingredients Kit with all the fabulous black and white paper, and this was the perfect opportunity. I think I should make lots of these cards because I'm generally running hopelessly behind these days when it comes to getting cards in the mail.

You have until FRIDAY, March 5, 2010 at 10pm CST to upload your card or project using the above sketch as your muse! Upload to your blog or public gallery (please use keyword OAC2) and LINK your name using Mr. Linky on the Oh, Alice blog! We can't WAIT to see your creations!

Check out what the rest of the Twisted 13 and our Mad Hatter have come up with!

And may I say, I'm having a BLAST being on this DT!!!

Oh, Alice! Let the Adventure Begin!

CHAPTER ONE: DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE: THE BEGINNING...

"The White Rabbit put on his spectacles. "Where shall I begin, please your Majesty?" he asked. "Begin at the beginning," the King said gravely, "and go on till you come to the end: then stop."

ALICE GETS GLAM: INSPIRATION CHALLENGE

In anticipation of the upcoming Tim Burton remake of Alice in Wonderland, let's GET GLAM with Alice! Jessica (the Mad Hatter) recently scored this UBER fab makeup palette by Urban Decay and fell in love with the awesome colors, the NAMES of the eyeshadows (all after Alice, of course ;) and the pop-up mushroom mirror!

We wanna see how YOU get Glam using this amazing little piece as your inspiration! Show us your style, put on the glitz, and GET GLAM!

For my card, I focused on the caterpillar and some of the colors in the diorama of the make-up case. It's hard to tell unless you enlarge the photo, but the "drink me" bottle is discarded off to the bottom right, and the caterpillar smoking the hooka pipe is on top of the upper left mushroom.

This amazing image is by Sassy Studio Designs from the Adventures in Sassyland collection... a must have for all Alice fans! I, of course, had to get the entire set, so you'll be seeing lots of these fun images in future cards! The DP is from Basic Grey's Indian Summer collection, which was part of the Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients kit for November 2009, and included those colorful skeleton leaves and rhinestones. Have I mentioned lately how wonderful TE Key Ingredients kits are? (*grin*)

The sketch is Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge #61, made square to accommodate the size of the image. I meant to do so much more with this card, but I ran out of time. I've truly been the white rabbit for the past week... running late, late, late! Pretend it's 10:01 pm Pacific, okay? {LOL}

I sure hope you'll come and play with us at Oh, Alice! WHAT would our first Challenge be without a PRIZE?! Normally we'll (hopefully) be sponsored on the 1st Saturday of each month, but for today's FIRST Fall Down the Rabbit Hole, we thought we'd give away a little something! ONE LUCKY WINNER will be chosen at Random to WIN a single stamp of their choice from THE GREETING FARM (in stock items only). So, GOOD LUCK and here's how to play:

You have until FRIDAY, February 26, 2010 at 10pm CST to upload your card or project using the above inspiration photo as your muse! Upload to your blog or public gallery (please use keyword OAC1) and LINK your name in Mr. Linky on the Oh, Alice! Challenge Blog! We can't WAIT to see your creations and THANK YOU for your support of this CURIOUS new venture!

Be sure to visit the rest of the Twisted 13 (and our Mad Hatter Jessica) to see what delights they have in store for you!

Pretend It's Early Monday Morning

I'm going to be pretending a lot from now on, it seems. My oh my. I am SOOOO Happy to announce that I'm one of the Twisted Thirteen...the Design Team for the new challenge blog Oh, Alice! Our fearless leader is none other than Jessica Diedrich, the Mad Hatter herself!! I'm so excited! This will be a challenge blog like no other, which is what I love about it. I think it will really stretch me creatively. Plus, look at all the stars I get to play with every week!

So what exactly IS this Oh, Alice! Challenge Blog???

We will be a WEEKLY Challenge blog posted EVERY SATURDAY. We will be featuring inspiration challenges from Alice-inspired memorabilia, jewelry, and other handmade items from places like Etsy shoppes and vintage collectibles. We will also incorporate Color-inspired challenges from certain scenes from the movie, inspiration from items like teacups, teapots, flowers, and hearts (a few of the major components of the movie!), and even some sketches along the way! It's going to be FUN FUN FUN! (quoted from the Oh Alice! blog)
