Meet Daisy!

Happy Tuesday!!! Look who we're previewing for you today... a sassy new Sprout named Daisy! Isn't she a doll?! When I sat down to color her up I immediately thought redhead! lol I love red hair! I imagine she's an Irish lass (*wink*). I know she wants to come to your house and play! You'll get your chance on Friday, April 1st when she... along with her friends Surfer Anya and __?__ (and the Creepin Creeper Crew Collection 1)... are released at The Greeting Farm!!!

As many of you have no doubt read (if not, you can click HERE) the Club Anya & Friends blog is closing. Sounds sad, huh? It kinda is. But really it's not! Because something new and exciting will be taking its place... and you'll find out all about it on Friday Thursday!!!

As a salute to all the fun at CA&F over the past couple of years, I've played with the very last Saturday Sketch designed by the wonderful Jen Shultz.  I turned the sketch on its side and created a flower daisy for the side embellishment. That gorgeous paper and button are more of Emma's Shoppe by Crate Paper, which I can't seem to get enough of. ;)

For more previews of sweet Daisy nip on over to the TGF blog and also visit these lovely ladies:

We'll be back tomorrow with a preview of __?__. (*grin*)  See you then!

See you soon!

you are my sunshine

A blessed Third Sunday in Lent to you! This is the day that the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!

It's my turn to host the challenge at Stampin' Sisters in Christ. I chose as my inspiration scripture Philippians 4:6-7 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." My challenge is a different kind of peace... piece... as in paper piecing...use paper piecing in the main image of your card/project.

My card features Little Frieda's Flowers, exclusive to my very own little store The Craft's Meow. From now through Tuesday March 29th, if you buy all three Little Frieda stamps you can save 20%! Just enter the code 3LittleFriedas at checkout. I'm also co-sponsoring this week's challenge at Stampin' Sisters in Christ, offering a set of the three Little Friedas as a prize. Technique Junkie Newsletter is also sponsoring our challenge with a free one-year subscription! What better time to play in our challenge?!

I paper-pieced Little Frieda's dress with patterned paper from the Emma's Shoppe collection by Crate Paper. I'm just in love with this paper set. The flowers and patterns and colors sing to my heart! I've sort of cobbled together a scene with the paper, making it appear that Little Frieda is basking in the sunshine in a field of flowers. :)

As I sit down to write my devotional for this week's challenge, it's just after midnight. I have to admit that I sorta forgot it was my turn to host the challenge this week. I've been preoccupied for the past few weeks, mainly focused on getting my store opened, but I've had quite a few things on my mind lately. So I'm sitting here wondering how I can possibly... at this late hour and with a distracted mind... write a meaningful devotional? I'm not sure I can. So I'm going to cheat a little... I've pulled out my notes from the sermon preached by our pastor on February 27th...

It was during that service that I chose my inspiration scripture. I think there's a theme lately where my devotionals are concerned. Have you noticed? They all seem to be about worry... or should I say trust and faith? I suppose there's a reason for that. I find myself being tested these days.

The title of the sermon was "Is Today the Tomorrow You Worried About Yesterday." That gives you some food for thought right there, doesn't it?  Our pastor offered Philippians 4:6-8 as "A Practical Guide for Worriers." This scripture exhorts us to PRAY... to BE THANKFUL for what we have both here on earth and eternally...to RECEIVE THE GIFT OF PEACE... and to OCCUPY OUR MINDS WITH GODLY THINGS. In other words, the way to deal with worry is to seek first the kingdom of God. Shift your focus away from worldly affairs to your eternal life, because when you seek God, everything else takes its rightful place.

I keep reminding myself of this... not to worry... to "let go, let God." I always feel the peace on some level, for my faith in God hasn't waned. It's just my weaker human self that allows the gloom to set in, the self-doubts, the questions, the regrets, the indecision. But I keep coming back to center...to God...and that, my friends, is the peace that passes all understanding.

Please be sure to stop by the Stampin' Sisters in Christ blog to see the wonderful cards created by our design team. I encourage you to also visit each of their blogs... you will be blessed!

Thanks for stopping by today. God's blessings to you!

Do Sit Down

Happy Saturday!!! Time for another wonderful sketch challenge at Sketch Saturday!!!

I turned the sketch on its side for my card featuring one of my favorite new images... Mrs. Cleaver... one of the brand new Retro Crew Collection by Victoria Case for Susana's Custom Art and Card Design (SCACD). She's perfect paired with patterned paper from the Modern Homemaker collection by October Afternoon. I created the brads from images in the paper with Build-A-Brad by Stampin Up. The greeting is by Rosie's Roadshow.

I hope you'll come along and play with us this week. Our sponsor is The Craft Barn, offering a fabby Tim Holtz stamp set as a prize!

Be sure to nip on over to the Sketch Saturday blog to see the loveliness created by the rest of the design team ladies. You will love what you see!

Taylored Expressions Blast From The Past Blog Hop!

Yay! It's time once again for the Taylored Expressions Blast From the Past Blog Hop! We're celebrating Spring!

Sankari Wegman has designed a most wonderful sketch for us to play with. I turned it upside down so that my circle element would suggest a sun shining on the flowers. The flowers are from the Friendship Blooms stamp set.

I stamped the stems and inked all edges in Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink. The flowers are stamped in Tim Holtz Spun Sugar Distress Ink. After cutting them out with the coordinating TE Friendship Blooms Dies, I sponged them with a little more Spun Sugar and then Walnut Stain, and topped them off with buttons from the Emma's Shoppe collection by Crate Paper.

And, yes, that lovely paper and the die cut circle are from Emma's Shoppe! I love love love this collection!

Enjoy the hop!

Little Sweetie

A blessed Second Sunday in Lent to you! This is the day that the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!

Our challenge hostess this week at Stampin' Sisters in Christ is the wonderful Grace Nywening. I've said it before, and I'll say it again... when Grace speaks, I listen! She chose as her inspiration scripture Matthew 6:6 "But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you." Her challenge is to create a card or project that has something hidden from first view. It could be many things... an envelope, a pull out, doors that open to reveal something, a Joy Fold, Flip Flop, Magic Slider...anything that you don't see at first glance.

Today's scripture is part of The Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:1 - 7:29). In Matthew 6:5, Jesus is giving instruction on prayer. In fact, this is the chapter where you find the Lord's Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13). The message I'm getting from this passage is that God wants us to understand the simplicity of how to communicate with him. Nothing showy, no wild declarations, no fancy words are necessary. Just come as you are before your Father in Heaven and pray: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.

God already knows your needs and knows your genuine heart. I encourage you to make time every day to shut away the world and communicate with your Father in Heaven... deeply and genuinely. He will hear you and He will answer your prayers.

For my challenge card, I went with an envelope to conceal my card. And guess who's inside? None other than Little Frieda herself!

If you've been following my blog and/or my store blog, then you know that the first three stamps in the "Little Frieda and Friends" line will be released tomorrow (Monday March 21st) during the Grand Opening of my store The Craft's Meow. You can read all about it on my store blog!

I paired Little Frieda's Daisy with paper and embellishments that are included in one of the kits being released on Monday as well. They are from the Emma's Shoppe collection by Crate Paper (although the envelope is by Maya Road). Love love love this collection!!!

Please join us in our challenge this week! Our sponsor is Our Daily Bread Designs, offering a $15 Gift Certificate to spend on stamps in their store. Be sure to stop by the Stampin' Sisters in Christ blog to see the rest of the wonderful cards created by our design sisters and to read Grace's devotional on her scripture. You will be blessed!

Have a wonderful day!!!

Playtime!

Happy Saturday!!! Time for another wonderful sketch challenge at Sketch Saturday!!!

I absolutely love this week's sketch. It's a perfect fit to showcase Little Frieda and Lulu - Mischief, one of the three Little Frieda stamps being released in my new store on Monday, March 21st... the grand opening of The Craft's Meow! You can read all about it on my store blog.

I've paired this sweet scene of Little Frieda letting her bird out of his cage with patterned paper from the Togetherness collection by Cosmo Cricket. I just love the look of the burlap paired with this paper.

I hope you'll come along and play with us this week! Our sponsor is Bunny Zoe Crafts, offering a £10 gift voucher to spend in in the store. Bunny Zoe Crafts has a fantastic sale going on right now...25% off all High Hopes, C.C. Designs and The Greeting Farm Stamps!!! But hurry, because the sale ends at midnight (UK time) on Sunday, March 20th.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Friends of Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Waltz!

Top 'o the morning to you...and the rest of the day to yourself! (I love that Irish sentiment. I never knew there was a "second" part to the greeting until I met Claire and got my hands on her Irish Blessings stamp set. :)

Anyhoo, Happy St Patrick's Day!!! I'm so happy to be participating in this month's Friends of WMS Blog Waltz. I remember when the monthly waltzes first started last year on St Patrick's Day. That's how they landed on the 17th of each month...a bit of WMS trivia for you. ;)

My card features one of the many wonderful Irish sayings from Irish Blessings which I stamped inside one of the beautiful Very Vintage Labels No. 10 images. I stamped the label in acrylic paint...Adirondack "Lettuce" Paint Dabber, to be exact. I like that it gives an aged look to the image. I stamped the greeting and sponged all the edges with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink... I just can't seem to stop myself from doing that all the time now, thanks to the influence of my friends Julie and Traci. ;) The patterned paper is by Webster's Pages.

To all my WMS friends, I'm just heartbroken to not be a part of the WMS family anymore. I loved being Claire's Mousekeeper so much... more than you know. It's wrenching to be on the outside looking in now, but things change and life goes on. I can't thank Claire and the rest of the girls on the DT and the Mischief Makers enough for all their good wishes in my new venture, and for all the fun I had while I was Mousekeeper. A part of my heart will ALWAYS belong to Claire and Waltzingmouse Stamps. You'll just see me playing on "this side" of the fence from now on.

Now on you go to waltz the day (or night?) away! Don't forget to wear green so that you don't get pinched! I'm actually reminding myself because for some reason, I always forget. lol

I'll be waltzing your way soon, too!

Hugs,

Pretend It's Saturday...

As if trying to adjust to the time change isn't enough, I'm going to ask you to pretend it's Saturday. I'm running a tad bit behind with my weekend posts. (*sheepish grin*) You wouldn't think it would be difficult to get four young men ready for a fancy wedding, would you? ha! And despite my warnings (and good intentions), most of the running around to pull outfits together didn't occur until the 11th hour. Somewhere in the midst of all that excitement, my mojo left town. So please bear with me and pretend it's Saturday and time for another fabulous sketch challenge at Sketch Saturday!!!

Jo has come up with another fun sketch for us to play with... I'm loving all the circles! I paired this sweet Gnome image by Whiff of Joy with patterned paper from the Campfire collection by October Afternoon. The greeting stamp is by Verve.

Our sponsor for this week's challenge is Simon Says Stamp, offering a $25 Gift Certificate to spend on goodies in their store!!! Wow, I wish I could win that! lol SSS offers lots of yummy Whiff of Joy stamps.

I hope you'll come along and play with us this week! Be sure to nip on over to the Sketch Saturday blog to see the lovely cards made by the rest of the design team using this sketch. You will surely be inspired!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I'll be back soon, asking you to pretend it's Sunday. (*wink*)

Beautiful Original You!

Happy Friday! Wow this week has zoomed by for me. It's one of those "feast or famine" situations... I'll have weeks go by with very little going on and then boom, lunch dates and/or appointments every day for a week. But it's all been good. :)

I'm popping in today to share a card I made with Ally, one of the new Girlfriends Collection by La-La Land Crafts. A bit different from Marci and Luka, but with a special look all her own! You'll be meeting one of her friends very soon. ;) I paired Ally with patterned paper from the Restoration collection by Crate Paper. I cut the scallops from one of the papers, sponged and layered them with pop dots. I cut the cards from another piece of the paper, sponged and mounted them behind Ally. The words are from the coordinating sticker sheet.

Gotta run. I hope you have a la la lovely day! I'll be back soon with more!

P.S. My heart and prayers go out to all those affected by the earthquakes and tsunami in Japan.

Kiss Kiss

We're having a celebration today at La-La Land Crafts, and you're invited! The fun starts at the La-La Land Crafts blog, so if you haven't been there yet, you'll definitely want to hop over there and follow along for all the fun!

We are celebrating the release of the wonderful new Marci and Luka images (The Playtime Collection)... plus a new family member Ally...in rubber! They've been available in digi, but now you rubber stamp lovers can hold them in your hands!

I'm showcasing Doctor Marci, who is tending to her little panda. Adorable! Raise your hand if you played doctor when you were little. Okay, maybe you don't want to admit it. (*wink*)  This image makes a sweet "get well soon" card, don't you think? I've paired her with patterned paper from the Little Girl collection by Echo Park. That beautiful crocheted flower was hand made for me by my bestie (and LLLC teammate) Kim Yu! Thanks Kim!

My card follows this month's sketch at Sketch for You to Try.

Now on you go to 1LuvnMama's blog to see what wonderfulness she has in store for you! Enjoy!

A Big Annoucement!!!

The day has finally come for me to reveal the big secret I've been keeping... the project I've been working on for awhile! You'll find out all about it by clicking your heels three times... just kidding. You'll find it by clicking HERE. I'm so excited!!!

Wishing You a Wonderful Day

A blessed Transfiguration Sunday to you! This is the day that the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!

Our challenge hostess this week at Stampin' Sisters in Christ is our very dear Chris Olsen. Chris chose as her inspiration scripture Isaiah 40:7 "The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand forever."  Her challenge is to use a stamped flower image on your card/project (note that patterned paper, embossing or paper flowers do no count as a stamped flower.)

The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our Lord will stand forever. Everything here on earth is temporal my friends...the good and the bad. Which is why we should count our blessings when things are good... and count them again when they are bad... because all these things shall pass. But God's love for us is eternal. His word never falters. He always keeps his promises. Once we leave this world and enter into His kingdom, we'll have eternal life and be reunited with those who have passed before us. What joy that will be!

A brief word about my card... the image and greeting are from Hero Arts. After stamping the floral image in Deep Lagoon chalk ink (Colorbox), I covered it in Tim Holtz Distress Clear Crackle Paint. I think goofed it up because I got some bubbles and the crackle didn't break the way I thought it should. I'll have to try again. (Tip: don't wait until the last minute to make your challenge card so that you're too tired for a do-over if you mess up. lol) I made the flower using a running stitch on wide ribbon and pulling it tight.

I hope you'll join is this week at SSIC. Our sponsor is Clear Dollar Stamps, who is offering a $15 GC to spend on clear stamps. But the greatest reward is the fellowship. I urge you to visit the SSIC blog to see what the rest of our amazing design team has created with stamped flowers AND to visit each of their blogs. I truly believe you will be blessed.

I really do wish you a wonderful day!

Cheeky Howdy!

Howdy... and Happy Saturday! Time for another wonderful sketch challenge at Sketch Saturday!!!

It's Cazza's turn to host the challenge and she's come up with a great sketch for us to play with. My card features Cheeky Howdy from The Greeting Farm. I admit I'm a bit keen on retro, so the Cheeky Cherry series is one of my faves.

I also turned to a favorite for the patterned paper... yep, that's "vintage" Early Bird by Cosmo Cricket. The colors and patterns of that paper still make me happy. *smile* I created the border with my Magnolia DooHickey Cherry Lace die.

I hope you'll come along and play with us this week. Our sponsor is Lisa B Designs. Such cute critters has she... plus, I'm partial to her name. *wink* For more inspiration, be sure to jump over to the Sketch Saturday blog to see all the goodness created by the fantastic design team. We're an international group, don't you know. I love it!

Have a wonderful day!

When Sweet Meets Sassy... Susana's Custom Art and Card Design New Release Blog Hop!

Happy Friday! It's an extra happy day for me because I have the honor and pleasure of participating in a blog hop today celebrating the latest Victoria Case release at Susana's Custom Art and Card Design (SCACD)!!! The fun begins on the SCACD blog, where you'll find the links to all the blogs on today's hop just in case there's a break along the way. If you've arrived here from Lori's blog you're on the right track!

My first card (above) features one of the fun new images in the The Retro Crew Collection! This cutie is Hot Stuff. Isn't she wonderful? If you buy the entire set of four images, you get a bonus lava lamp stamp. Cool beans! Retro is hot, and Hot Stuff proves it!

My second card features a gorgeous image from the Bonita Collection. She's called Victoria Bonita, named for the artist Victoria Case. Isn't she beautiful? There are also four images in this collection, and if you buy the set, you get a flourish stamp as a bonus. Once you see all of the images, I know you're gonna want them all! I know I do!

Good news for European buyers... you can buy SCACD stamps directly from Quixotic Paperie, exclusive retailer of SCACD images overseas!

Both of my cards feature patterned paper by Basic Grey, which you can find at SCACD, along with bundled Copic markers that you can select based on sample artwork. Check it out! The embellies on my Hot Stuff card were made by my dear friend Sarah Martina Parker, and those on the Victoria Bonita card are Basic Grey coordinating chipboard pieces.

Next on the hop is the wonderful Kim Costello's blog. But before you go, I have another exciting annoucement... SCACD will be starting a fabulous new challenge blog in April!!! Yep, that's right! You can jump over there now and become a follower so that you'll be right up to date as things develop. I'm over-the-moon thrilled to be on the inaugural design team!!! I still can't believe it! How lucky am I???

Okay, I won't keep you a moment longer... on you go to Kim's. Enjoy the hop!
