Happy Purr-Day!

This will be a quick post because I know I NEED to be doing something else. I'm having one of those days when I've accomplished absolutely nothing, and I'm feeling really guilty about it. I did get up early this morning to attend a 3-hour Bible Study at my church on the book "The Shack." Have you read that book? You should!

I got home a little after noon, and I can't name one constructive thing I've accomplished since. Why does that make me feel so guilty? My husband and kids have no problem with laying on the couch watching golf all day and telling me to relax. I try to tell myself it's okay, but I can't shake this feeling of guilt and panic about all the things I should have done but didn't. I think it's a holdover from being a kid and having to do chores every Saturday and being told I was lazy if I was caught laying around. I hate that "L" word! But there you have it... I've been lazy all day long. I even took a really long nap. Maybe I should change my blog name to Confessions of a Big Time Napper!

Anyhoo, I wanted to share this card I made the other night for my BFF Marianne. Her birthday was Thursday (Happy Birthday again, Marianne!), and of course I waited until Wednesday night to make a card (I must have been napping when I should have been stamping... ha!). Fortunately, this card came together quickly because the DP is really the star... from the Basic Grey Urban Prairie collection. In fact, it was so predominant, that I could not figure out what to do with the empty space to the right of the image. I finally gave up fiddling around at about 11:00 pm and called it good.

I do really like the brad treatment though... that sort of happened by accident. I used an SU Build A Brad, and punched circles to back it. It fit Purrfectly in line with the DP. The image, by the way, is by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps from the Purr-fect Day collection. Of course I had to have this set because it has the sentiment "You're the Cat's Meow."

I also used my Martha Stewart edge punch (don't you love those Michael's 40% coupons!), and then finished it off with a piece of ribbon from Taylored Expressions. Taylor carries some of the most fantastic ribbon at great prices... you should really check it out.

Okay, I'm going to drag my sorry butt off this chair and do something, even if it's wrong! {LOL} Thanks for stopping by!

You made me smile Lisa! Your card is ADORABLE!!! I love the colors, DP and all of it is FABULOUS!! I feel the same way when I sit... I think I have to get my chores done b/4 any R&R... I tell myself if that's the case I'd never sit! Because there is always something to do!!!!! Yikers... :) I was raised the same way; always have to be doing something or you are LAZY! May DH is the same way always on the go. I have to work at the R&R, just like now I should be in my craft room... SOON! Smiles and hugs! :)

Gorgeous card Lisa - I bet your friend loved it. The DP may be the star but you needed to make it that way!! My kids laugh at my "nana naps" - but I call them power naps!

This is super cute. Love the DP and ribbon too. It's ok to take a day off. You work hard all week, sometimes your body just needs to STOP! Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Can't wait for next Saturday!!!
