Celebrate Autumn!

A blessed Sunday to you! This is the day that the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!

You might have noticed that I took a bit of a break from Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenges... three months to be exact. I didn't really mean to be gone that long. It was just a crazy summer for me. But I'm back now, and I'm glad to be back!!!

Our challenge hostess this week is Kris Breach and she chose as her inspiration scripture Galatians 5:22-23a "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control." Her challenge is to include FRUIT in your creation (be it a stamp, digi image, paper, charms, etc.). *By definition, a pumpkin is a fruit, and so are other “harvest” produce such as gourds.* I encourage you to visit the SSIC blog to read Kris's devotional and see the rest of the design team cards. You will be blessed!

I hope an acorn is considered a fruit... okay, maybe that's stretching it, but I had a specific reason for wanting to use this particular digi image called Fall Frolic Betty, and I couldn't figure out how to work fruit into the design. My friend Betty of Simply Betty Stamps has lowered prices on various stamps and digis in her store to help raise funds to cover medical expenses for her 17-year old son who was just diagnosed with Stage 1 throat cancer. I want to help spread the word... for both sales and PRAYERS for Christian. Cancer is a very scary thing, especially for a mother and her young son, even though the prognosis is good.

I paired Fall Frolic Betty (colored with Copic markers) with patterned paper from the Farmhouse collection by Crate Paper, greeting by SRM, and acorn embellishment by Jolee's (tied with a bit of twine).

When I reflect on today's inspiration scripture I think about how hard it can be to stick with the promises of the Lord when times are tough, especially when they seem to be unrelenting, and our faith is sorely tested. But that's when it's the most important time to seek and praise God in all things. It is only by doing this that we will feel love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control even in the darkest of times. Seek first the kingdom of God and these things will come to you.

God's blessings to you!

Simply Betty Stamps Previews Continue!!!

We continue with our previews today of the six new images called "Teen Scene" that are debuting on Sunday at  Simply Betty Stamps!! Today we're showcasing Betty & Batty. I think it's too cute that the bat is hanging upside down on Betty's finger. lol

I paired Betty & Batty with patterned paper and stickers from the Summer Days collection by Echo Park. I love this paper line... so fresh and cheerful. It makes ME smile!

Be sure to pop over to the Simply Betty Stamps blog to see what Betty's fabulous design team has created featuring Betty & Batty. We'll be back tomorrow with more! Enjoy!

Simply Betty Stamps Previews Continue!

Woot woot, as Betty Boo would say! Time for another peek at what's to come on Sunday when Simply Betty Stamps releases six new images called Teen Scene! Today we're showcasing Miller & Max. Okay, I'm definitely not a snake person, but this one seems friendly enough... I hope. Yikes! Miller likes him, so that's all that matters. (*grin*)

I paired Miller and his pet snake with patterned paper from the Life of the Party collection by Basic Grey, and a wee brad by Bo-Bunny. I guess when it comes to making boy cards, less is more?

Be sure to pop over to the Simply Betty Stamps blog to see what Betty's fabulous design team has created featuring Miller & Max. We'll be back tomorrow with more! Enjoy!

Simply Betty Stamps Teen Scene Previews Continue!

Happy Monday! Did the weekend go by too fast, or what? I hope all you moms had a good Mother's Day. Mine was pretty quiet, which I suppose is a good thing when you live with four males (call it five since Ian spends a lot of time here), two dogs and two cats.(*grin*)

I'm so happy to be guest designing this month for Simply Betty Stamps!!! We previewed London & Lynx yesterday, and today we are showcasing Lola & Louie. They are part of the six new "Teen Scene" images being released as rubber stamps on Friday, May 13th!

I flipped the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 116 on its side for my card, pairing Lola and her pet rat with patterned paper from the Upcycle collection by Cosmo Cricket, along with a remnant scrap of satin pleated ribbon, a Zva swirl, a Websters pages bling button, and a tag by Tim Holtz.

They say rats make good pets. Me, I'll stick with my dogs and cats. I'm not a rodent person. But Louis looks pretty friendly to me. :)

Be sure to pop over to the Simply Betty Stamps blog to see what the rest of Betty's ladies have created featuring Lola & Louis. We'll be back yet again tomorrow with more previews!

Have a great day!

We're starting today with London & Lynx, one of the six new "Teen Scene" images being released as rubber stamps on Friday, May 13th!

I've paired London and her kitty with patterned paper from the Blossom collection by Jillbean Soup. I also followed sweet Carly Breach's Sketch Challenge #30, turning it on its side. As you can see, I even followed the color scheme of her sketch! ;)

Be sure to pop over to the Simply Betty Stamps blog to see what the rest of Betty's ladies have cooked up featuring London & Lynx! I'll be back tomorrow with more!

Happy Saturday! Are you ready for another fabulous sketch challenge at Sketch Saturday???

I love this sketch! And it's perfect to showcase a little sneaky peaky I have for you! Yep, I happen to be besties with the one and only Betty Boo (aka Betty Roberts), owner extraordinaire of Simply Betty Stamps! SBS will soon be releasing a new range of stamps to be known as the Teen Scene. I'm privileged to have the opportunity to play with one of the new images... London...with her loooong tailed kitty cat. (*wink*) Six new Teen Scene images will be released mid-May, so stay tuned to the Simply Betty Stamps blog for more information!

I paired London with patterned paper and sticker embellishments from the Summer Days collection by Echo Park. Love! I found that cool "ribbon" at my LSS.

Fa la la!

Happy Saturday! Time for another incredible sketch challenge at Sketch Saturday!!

I flipped the sketch on its side for my card. I love that you can do that with sketches... it gives you so many options.

My card features Rio Trimming the Tree, one of the six new Christmas My Kids Emo World stamps released yesterday at Simply Betty Stamps. I must say these Christmas Emos might be my favorites so far!

I paired Rio with DP and coordinating chipboard from the Jovial collection by Basic Grey. I sponged around all the edges with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink. The rhinestones are by Kaisercraft.

Be sure to stop by the Sketch Saturday blog to see what the rest of the design ladies have created using this sketch. You will be delighted and inspired! It's such a great sketch, I plan to use it again myself!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Simply Betty Stamps New Release Blog Hop!

Woo hoo!!! The day is finally here! Simply Betty Stamps is releasing the SIX new Christmas My Kids Emo World stamps in rubber (and, for a limited time, also in digi)!!! You've been seeing previews for the past two days, and now you get one more look at these wild and wonderful stamps during our celebration Blog Hop!!!

The fun starts at the Simply Betty Stamps blog. You'll want to hop along from there for lots of great eye and chances to win some fabulous prizes!!!

My card features sweet and sassy Candy Cane London. I love her! She seems like the perfect girl to glitter up, don't you think? It may be hard to see in the photo, but I used my atYou Spica Clear pen to add a bit of sparkle to her trim and the candy canes. After punching out the snowflakes, I used chunky glitter to give them some extra sparkle, and then used Stickles around the edge of the image mat just for good measure! The DP and sticker are from the Everybody Loves Christmas collection by Echo Park. Fun!

Your next stop on the hop is Meredith's blog, who is sure to delight! Enjoy!!!

I'm showcasing Lola today. I love her! She comes with two little bat friends plus the present you see on my card. I paired Lola and her prezzie with DP from the Snow Day collection by Crate Paper. The Christmas tree was cut out using a Sizzix die. I sponged the edges of the tree and background paper with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain distress ink. The greeting (noel) is by K&Company... something I pulled out of my stash.

Be sure to hop over to the Simply Betty Stamps blog to see today's previews as well. I've had a peek and can I just say AMAZING!!!

I'll be back tomorrow for the new release Blog Hop!!! Y'all come back now, ya hear?

Here's my treat:
My card features Ghoulfriend and the tree and moon elements from the Twisted Tree and Silver Moon Set by the amazing Christy Croll, Miss Tiddly Inks herself! I created the scene with Photoshop Elements and paired them with DP from the Nite Owl collection by Stampin Up! After a tiny bit of shading and coloring of the images, I finished up with a couple of headstone stickers from Martha Stewart Crafts and a brad from My Mind's Eye.

Here's my trick:

For a balanced design, always create a visual triangle with your images and embellishments. Do you see mine?

The ribbon is something I bought that night... the rest of what they had on the spool. It ties so well! The greeting is by SRM. The stick pin is something else I dug up in my old stash.

Have I mentioned lately that I've been doing a lot of digging around in my old stash? Stay tuned for more news in that regard. Something exciting is in the offing!

All About Betty Blog Hop!

The gals from The Burtonesque Dolls, Simply Betty Stamps and Simply Betty Challenges design teams figured it was a good time to put together a blog hop to honor our very own BETTY, also known as Betty Boo!!

This hop is ALLLLLLLLLLLLL about Betty! Since October is Betty's favorite month and there are sooooo many exciting things happening at Simply Betty Stamps in October, we thought it would be fun to have the hop now... sort of like a warm-up up for Halloween!

And since Halloween is Betty's favorite time of year, you will be seeing mostly Halloween cards on the hop. We have, of course, used only Simply Betty Stamps images!

Betty's nickname, given to her by Lori Boyd, is "Betty Boo," so I pulled out the original Betty from My Kids Emo World stamps for my card. The tag hidden under the ribbon says "Boo!"

The sketch is Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge #93.

Without further ado, let's check out some more inspiring and creative cards from all the ladies.  Please note because this is an appreciation blog hop there are no prizes.  It's just for fun but the ladies wouldn't mind receiving some luv from you anyway!!

So LET'S GET HOPPING!!  Your first stop is Eulanda! Just in case there's a break in the hop, all of the participants are listed here:

Lisa - that's me!

You know I love you Betty Boo!! I'm so glad I'm lucky enough to live near enough to you to spend time with you in person. Speaking of which, Alicia and I will see you Friday!!!

Your next stop on the hop is Kim's blog.  Enjoy!

Friends Forever

Yay!!! Today is the day that Simply Betty Stamps releases the SIX new Back 2 School My Kids Emo World digis!!!

Simply Betty Stamps

Welcome to our new release blog hop! The fun starts at the Simply Betty Stamps blog, where you'll want to go to get all the deets on today's festivities, including prizes and sales!!! You'll also find the links to all the blogs in the hop in case there's a break along the way.

My card today features Back 2 School Lola. She is one groovy chick! The cardstock, DP and fun flowers are from a past Taylored Expressions Project Pantry Kit.

The greeting is from SRM Stickers. I had the pleasure of meeting Susan and John McShirley, the owners of SRM, today at a cute little paper crafting store in Claremont called Stamp Your Heart Out. I went to meet Nina Brackett, who was there to help with a make-and-take (Nina is on the SRM design team). It was truly wonderful to finally meet Nina in person (plus one of her adorable daughters and her sweet mom)... she is exactly as you would think and then some. We never stopped talking for over an hour! I wish we'd had more time, but any time was better than no time. I just love her and hope we meet again one day. And, yes, a picture will follow... Nina will email the photos to me when she gets a chance to upload them.

I admit I came away with several sheets of SRM stickers. I'm now totally hooked on them!

Okay, back to our regular programming! The next stop on the hop is the amazing NICOLE!!! Before you go, be sure to leave a comment for a chance to win a prize! Have a great day!

sweet crazy silly friends

Ahhh, to be a young girl again, spending time giggling with your sweet crazy silly friends. Come to think of it, I still do that very thing!

Welcome to Day 2 of the previews of the SIX new Back 2 School My Kids Emo World digi stamps being released by Simply Betty Stamps tomorrow!

Today I'm featuring Back 2 School Betty. She's the artist of the bunch and just made a "splash" for her friends. (*grin*) The DP is by Pinecone Press, and the words are from an old set of graffiti stickers I had in my stash. The "splash" was made courtesy of my dear friend Alicia's template. Thanks sweet girl! (Alicia is my daughter-in-law at heart. We were out late crafting at our LSS last night, which is why my card is posting so late.)

I hope you'll click on over to the Simply Betty Stamps blog to see more previews from the rest of the SBS Design Team... they will knock your socks off! And be sure to stop by tomorrow for our new release blog hop. There are more goodies to see and prizes to be won!!!

Now I'm off to go meet Nina Brackett in person. I'm so excited!!!

My School Rulz!

 Welcome to the first day of previews of the SIX new Back 2 School My Kids Emo World digi images debuting at Simply Betty Stamps on Sunday, August 15th!!! I'm showcasing Back 2 School Rio today. Isn't she sassy? I love her! I'll say one thing... if she chews that gum in class, she'd better have enough to share with everyone! {LOL}

Simply Betty Stamps

I played with CPS Sketch 179, which is perfect for this image. The DP is from the Show & Tell collection by We R Memory Keepers, the greeting is a rub-on from Studio K, and the brad is from Doodlebug Designs. A truly simply card that lets the image take center stage!

Be sure to pop over to the Simply Betty Stamps blog to see what Betty and the rest of the design team are showcasing today. You will love it! And there's a little contest going on for a chance to win a prize that you won't want to miss!  (*wink*)

I'll be back tomorrow with another preview! Thanks for stopping by!
