Congrats!

Hello my friends! Have you missed me? Paul and the boys and I spent the Thanksgiving holidays with my family in Mississippi. It had been 7 years since our last visit; much too long. We had the BEST time. I will write more about that later and share a few pictures. For now, it's time for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge.

I am honored to be the challenge hostess this week. I chose the scripture Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." The challenge is to make a card/project of encouragement or congratulations.

I've noticed that lately there are a lot of people facing extreme challenges in their lives; health problems, the passing of loved ones, loss of employment, family crisis. Actually, it's not just lately, but always. We are regularly asked for prayers, and are more than willing to oblige, but it can become a bit overwhelming, can't it? We feel empathy and heartache. We realize that "but for the grace of God, there go I." In the most extreme cases, we re-examine our own lives and pledge to be more grateful and treasure every moment.

And, of course, we have lots of prayers of our own.

But here's what Paul said to the Phillipians: "...I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength." Phillipians 4:11-13

This is the peace that passes all understanding. By the grace of God we are saved. By the blood of Christ we are redeemed. By believing in Him we will have everlasting life (John 3:16). By clinging to God's promises -- having faith in His word -- we can get through anything that life throws our way.

"The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace." Numbers 6:24-26 That is my prayer for each of you!

Hi Lisa,

beautiful card and some very pragmatic words of wisdom. Contentment is a worthwhile goal I think. Its worth aiming for but can be so very hard to achieve in this world of "must have" and "cant live without".
