It's a bro thing...

Hey there! Did you miss me yesterday? That's the first time in a long time I haven't posted. It was my 26th wedding anniversary. Paul and I were married 7-7 at 7:00 in 1984. I was thinking this morning we've now been married more than half my life. Yowser!

But that's not why I didn't post. I was preoccupied with various things around the house. The most exciting part of my day was finally getting over to Lowe's and picking out new carpet for the living room... something I've been wanting to do for AGES! Now THAT's what I call a nice anniversary gift...at least since diamonds and a fancy vacation were off the table (hee hee). Now I'm drumming my fingers, waiting for them to call and schedule the installation.

I finally snuck into my craft room this evening to whip out a card for our very first Simply Betty Stamps challenge! The winner gets to be Guest Designer for Simply Betty Stamps in August, which, of course, includes free images to play with! The competition runs from now until 11:59 pm Eastern on July 29th. You'll find all the deets and the place to link your entry on the Simply Betty Stamps blog. Here's the sketch:

My card features Christian and his little gecko'ish pal. Christian is one of the original My Kids Emo World stamps released by Simply Betty Stamps, and is available in rubber. The DP, chipboard elements and sticker greeting are all from the Block Party collection by Bo Bunny, and are also available at the Simply Betty Stamps store. I'm lovin' using chipboard on my cards and scrapbook pages these days. It seems like all the good DP lines have coordinating chipboard and stickers. They can really add so much to your card/layout with very little effort. Fun!

I can't wait to see what you come up with for the challenge! Could you be joining me and the rest of the Design Team for all the new releases and fun in August? I hope so!

Have a wonderful day!

P.S. Happy Birthday to my sister Linda!!! I love you, Lou!

  5. Hi Lisa, Hope you had a fantastic wedding Anniversary! Liked your 'cool dude' card! lol Coincidentally, you share the same date that I had with my first Husband - we'd have been married 37 years yesterday, but sadly he died the day after our 26th Anniversary! So it's the 11th anniversary of his death today, it's been a sad day, even though I've moved on and married again!
