You Make Me Happy!
Happy Sunday! Today is the day that the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it! (Where did I hear that already today? The Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge blog perhaps? Hee hee)
Yes, it's Sunday and that means it's time for a new challenge at Stampin' Sisters in Christ. My BBFF Kristine is this week's hostess, and she chose the scripture Psalm 97:1, The Lord reigns, let the earth rejoice!, let the distant shores be glad! The challenge is to show the "earth rejoicing"... flowers blooming, oceans roaring, trees bursting with fruit, mountains and hills 'clapping'... whatever comes to mind for you as long as your card or project shows the earth rejoicing.
What an awesome challenge! Too bad my mojo went on vacation just when I needed to make my challenge card. The one I ended up with is not what I had pictured in my head, but will have to do for now. I was just quite simply wiped out today. I think I got a touch of food poisoning. Not fun!
Nevertheless, I love the scripture and I love the challenge. Kris talks a lot in the challenge blog post about the blessing of worship songs, and I have to agree. Singing at church is one of my favorite parts of the service. The songs are always so moving. I also find them to be a huge source of comfort in times of stress, and a source of joy as I hum along with my day. One of my favorite praise songs is Shout to the Lord... "Mountains bow down and the seas will roar at the sound of your name!" Amen!
Remember when I said if you ever feel that your mojo is at a low ebb, find a good sketch and let it get you going? Well, I followed my own advice. My card is based on the Sketch 135 at Card Positioning Systems. I was too late for the prize drawing, but that wasn't the point... I just needed to jump start my creativity! (Too bad it sputtered after that! LOL)
The DP is Earth Love by Cosmo Cricket, which I thought of immediately when I heard Kris's challenge. The chipboard element is also by Cosmo Cricket. The greeting is by Unity Stamps. I distressed the layers with my edge tool and some brown ink.
I do hope you'll visit the Stampin' Sisters in Christ blog, read Kristine's challenge post, and meet our 7 new Design Team members. Those girls ROCK!!! I am so looking forward to getting to know them better. How blessed am I?
Thanks for stopping by. YOU make me happy!!! Have a very HAPPY day!
I think your card is absolutely lovely, Lisa! We are our own worst critics. Have a happy Sunday!

ReplyDeleteYou are so silly....this card is gorgeous! I love that you did the distressing around the edges! That's a bit outside your norm, and it fits your style quite well! Love the stitching also! Candace is right - we are our own worst critics. I think your card (and it's creator) rocks! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS job Lisa... I think you DEFINATELY had your mojo on for this... you were just feelin' a li'l too sicky to realize it!! LOOOVE that edge distressing--I've GOT to find me one of those, HA! So much better than the ripped edges I used to do years ago. LOVE that beautiful ummm, what do you call it, is that thing your sentiment is on a Spellbinders die, or is that the "chipboard element" you refer to?? Hmmm, well, I love it! Hope you are feeling much better today and are able to go to church! Love ya!!
