Happy Friday! It's been a short work week, but I'm still happy it's Friday and the weekend is almost here. The a/c at our house is acting up, and so I haven't been able to spend a lot of time on the computer... it's in what turns out to be one of the hottest rooms in the house. Wouldn't you know!
In my (limited) blog surfing the other day, I discovered this fundraiser for a 13-year-old girl named Paige who was recently involved in a terrible boating accident. Poor thing has had to have one of her hands and most of her arm amputated and faces more surgeries. You can read about it here.
The good people at Whimsy Stamps have designed and are offering for sale this incredibly cute digi image called A Teddy for Paige. All proceeds go to Paige's medical fund. Even if you aren't into digi stamps... or you don't stamp at all... you can still buy it and print it out for your kids to color.
Digi images printed on an ink jet printer work wonderfully well with Copic markers, as well as Prismacolor Pencils (or the like) and OMS. If you print them on watercolor paper, you can watercolor them with little or no smears. I did a comparison in this previous post.
Also, Paige's neighbor Erin Bailey is also hosting some blog candy for those who send a card to Paige.
For my card, I used more of the yummy paper and a rub-on from the Taylored Expressions August Key Ingredients Kit. I placed the rub-on on a piece of yellow cardstock, and then punched it out with my scallop circle punch. I added a dab of yellow Dimensional Pearls to the center of the flower for a final touch.
The sketch is Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge 81.
Okay folks, I don't know about you, but after thinking about poor young Paige and steeped in memories of what happened 8 years ago today, I'm counting my blessings.
Thanks for stopping by today. I'll be back soon... hopefully with air conditioning!
Oh my that teddy is so addable.
