Happy Wednesday everyone! Yes, today is the day we start a new challenge over at the La-La Land Crafts Blog. Our hostess is Kathy Page, who is challenging us to distress our cards in some way. I just noticed that her blog name is "Distressed Stamper"... obviously, she isn't distressed... she just loves distressing! {LOL}
I admit I haven't done a lot of distressing in a loooonnnng time (stressing, on the other hand... well, that's another story!). I tend to go with the clean look... I owe that to my left brain (ha!). It was fun to stretch a bit for this card. I chose to distress by using my edge tool on all of the layers (except the card base) to rough them up, putting two of the DP layers through a CB embossing folder, and sponging the edges of all layers with Papertrey Ink's Vintage Touch ink. The lace and button were already vintage looking, so coordinated well with the look. And the DP is by Stampin Up... Bella Blue... which I love, love, love! The cardstock is SU Kraft and Not Quite Navy.
So, what are you waiting for? Get out those distressing tools and go to work! The card/project with the most votes gets 25% off at La-La Land Crafts! And there's no better time to shop than now... during the month of September, LLLC is offering FREE SHIPPING for orders over $50 within the US (discounted shipping internationally... are you listening Debbie?) AND the new Halloween stamps are now available!!!
And check this out... there's another new challenge blog in town! Yep, it's Crazy 4 Challenges. The first sketch challenge is by the wonderful Cindy Haffner, so I just had to play! I guess this is my version of "piling it on." Some of you girls amaze me with how many challenges you can tackle in one swoop!
Thanks for stopping by, and Happy (distress?) Stamping!
