Take a Walk on the Wild Side!

Woo Hoo, it's time for another Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps blog hop! You should have arrived here from Jeanette's blog, but if you want to start from the beginning, click over to the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog so that you won't miss any of the treats that are in store for you today through Friday. The full schedule is on the right column of my blog.

The theme is Take a Walk on the Wild Side, as we are featuring five of the cutest animal stamp sets you ever saw: Elly & Friends, Baby Blessings, Owl Celebrations, Sweet Dreams, and Doodle Bird. Scroll down to see the card I posted on Sunday using Elly & Friends.

When I first saw Doodle Bird, I fell in love. The images are just so cute! I truly love the "doodle" look of this stamp set. For my card, I stamped the tree and then used Sweet Pea Flower Soft to make it look a bit like a crepe myrtle.

This is the first time I've used Flower Soft, and I'm hooked! I added a little sparkle by sprinkling glitter after applying the Flower Soft. I learned how to work with Flower Soft and the glitter trick by watching this tutorial by Suzanne Dean.

I was also inspired by Dawn McVey's Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #13. I just love the color combos that girl comes up with, and this is no exception. I'm definitely going to use it again.

Note: I'm looking at my card IRL and it looks SOOO much better than the picture. I think that's because I took the photo at night with artificial light. I'll take another picture in the morning, so if you see this post before then, be sure to come back later for a better look! Edited to add: I took another picture this morning and it definitely looks better... the colors are more true in daylight.

ENABLER ALERT: Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is having a blow-out sale on several stamp sets plus all non-stamp items. Korin is going back to the basics of just selling acrylic and digi stamps, so she's running a sale of 40% to 50% off on several items! Mind you, her inventory is flying off the shelves (so to speak), but there are still great deals to be had. Be sure to check it out! You also have only a couple more days for the Christmas in July Sale. Both sales end Friday, July 31st, so hurry!

Okay, now on to your next stop on the blog hop. Sandy is waiting for you!

Have a great day!

P.S. Don't forget my Challenge for a Sunday Afternoon!
