Christmas in July!!!

Hello my friends! Yes, you're seeing correctly... this IS a Christmas card, and it IS July. It's all to celebrate the Christmas in July specials going on right now at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps! All Christmas and Winter stamps are on sale 15% off, and you can get this sweet digi image (part of a set) free as a gift with purchase! In fact, this is just one of three free digi sets you can receive as gifts with purchase!!!

Seems like every year I plan to make my Christmas cards, which means I tell myself that I'm going to start making them several months in advance... but every year that doesn't happen and I end up sneaking off to Hallmark and buying my cards. I'm feeling pretty motivated now that I've made my first Christmas card of the year. Try it and you'll see what I mean!

This is also a card for this week's sketch challenge at The Sweet Stop. The spin is Christmas in July. It was hard to pick which of the three digis to use, but I finally settled on Santa Bear. We Hjulbergs have a fondness for Santa Bears. Not to mention, we have a hard time waiting to open presents until Christmas day!

Gosh, right about now, with all this heat, I wouldn't mind if it were December!

Other deets: the DP is by Papertrey Ink. I colored the image with my Copics, but I added some sparkle to the bulbs on the tree, the bear's hat, and the bow on the present with my atYou Spica pens. I also used some white Fun Flock for the snow, and used my Zig Painty pen to add gold to the label holder (from SU's Hodgepodge Hardware). It's hard to see these details in the photo, so I took a close-up. It's still hard to see in the close-up, but trust me... the sparkle and snow really look great in real life.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. And don't forget, there's still time to win a prize if you enter my challenge, described in this post below. Right now, the chances of winning look pretty good! LOL

  2. Oh Lisa,
    Your card is BEAUTIFUL!!!

Thanks for the compliments on mine.
Actually, I used fun flock on the bear because I messed up the coloring.*Ü*
I have a lot to learn with the Copics!!!

My stitching is no special design. Just something I came up with.
