As I mentioned in my last post, my friend Lisa has two beautiful girls. The youngest, Ava, turned 4 on Tuesday. I made this card for her (which, ahem, is going out belatedly). I could give it to her in person on Sunday at church, but I'm going to mail it instead. Ava loves getting cards in the mail. What child doesn't? Seems like all the mail is for Mom and Dad. (Of course, we don't like to admit that it's mostly bills and junk!) So, I hope she feels special when she receives this in the mail.
I went a little crazy with my stitching. And here's a case where less probably would have been more... I added the Stickles to the package swirls at the last moment and decided I could have left well enough alone. That's my problem... not knowing when to leave well enough alone! LOL
The sketch is from Trina of Trina's Timeless Treasures. It's a blog candy challenge, so you should check it out. You have until September 5th to enter. Mine cheats a little... I couldn't put the felt ribbon behind the smaller layer as shown in the sketch. It just didn't fit correctly. Hopefully, Trina won't mind!
The felt flowers are from Stampin Up! The "pink" one was really Rose Red. I rubbed it on my Pink Passion ink pad to darken it up to match the rest. Turned out pretty well. I wish I'd made the center green, though. It's hard to tell in this picture, but I added Stickles to the brad instead.
